  1. Interesting. Who knows if this is "I have a 3 point shot now" Derrick Rose or "Why can't I be MVP?" Rose, but I think people who have watched Rose closely in his 3 seasons in the league knows that he's been a better shooter than he's shown the last month or two (at least mid range). He had a really good shot last night, and is starting to take that mid range shot again, after almost completely taking it out of his playbook for the last 2/3rds of the year. Yes I realize he was only 10/22, but when you consider that he took some pretty bad shots in the 3rd quarter, and consider only 1 of his 10 FGs were in the lane, that's pretty good.
  2. Wilbon said an interesting thing in his chat: Is that true? I don't really think the Bulls should be satisfied with a 1-1 split at home. Not at all. When the euphoria of last night faded, I was quickly reminded that this game means a lot less if we go out and lose game 2. The goal is to protect home court, and if we lose Game 2, we lost home court and give the momentum to Miami. It's not that I don't think the bulls can win in Miami, but most people would agree that if the first 2 games of a series between closely talented teams is split, the road team has the edge. So while last night was awesome, we've only accomplished half of what we've set out to do in these 2 home games.
  3. http://espn.go.com/nba/recap/_/id/270531008/cleveland-cavaliers-vs-detroit-pistons And I remember after that game thinking we were all in trouble because I expected to see that happen on the regular. And yet, this is really the only example I've seen cited for LeBron having a killer mentality. Maybe Game 5 against Boston could be added to that.
  4. Rip had his chance to go here but wouldnt accept a buyout to come here. If he would have accepted the buyout that Indiana offered him (after being traded to IND), he would already be a bull True, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want a buyout, just that he was unrealistic about a buyout number. Closer he gets to being expiring, easier that number is to negotiate. He is also candidate number one for cap relief cutting if that scenario happens with the new CBA. Last time it was nick-named the Allan Houston clause. This time, its getting nick-named the Rip Clause if it happens. You sure it wouldnt be the "Boozer clause"?

  6. That's kind of cool. Not sure who those players could be though....Aging SGs without rings....Is Jason Richardson considered old yet?
  7. http://imageshack.us/m/18/2056/hahawat.png Haha wat? I'm pretty sure that 72% of people didn't pick the Bulls before the series.
  8. Still going through that heat thread.... Stay classy bandwagoners
  9. Oh and then there is this one guys signature:
  10. Hopefully Sunday afternoon. Nope, I believe its already scheduled for 7:30 CT Sunday Night. TNT has the ECF exclusively, so Sunday afternoon games on ABC arent gonna happen this series.
  11. I'm guilty of this too at times of frustration, but it's funny how when your team is getting beat, its always the refs fault first, then its the coach's fault, then its all one individual scapegoat player's fault, then its the team "not focused" or "not having enough heart". Only then will they admit that maybe their team isnt as good as the other, at least on that night.
  12. They would anyway, have you seen the unemployment rate in chicago? Unemployment rate by metro area (as of March 2011) Miami/Ft. Lauderdal/Pompano Beach: 10.9% Chicago/Joliet/Naperville: 8.9% Don't let facts get in the way of a good trolling argument. Dudez, its the stupid midwest AKA rust belt. Everyone is unemployed, including the backwards city of Chicago.
  13. Him and Noce had a few skirmishes in the 06 playoff series. In one, him and Noce got tangled up and I believe Haslem was called for the foul and he responded by throwing his mouthpiece, which got him an immediate ejection from the game, and a suspension in the next game.
  14. Can't play game 2 till Wednesday cuz Oprah has the UC for 2 days. I think the gap between games 2 and 3 is to allow the West to catch up a bit? Not positive though. By the time we play game 3, the WCF will have exceeded us in games played. that's odd considering our game 1 tipped off hours after the WCF matchup was finally decided.
  15. he foolishly went up for the block and gave taj a free throw attempt to go with his dunk and taj looked like he went up just inside the free throw line, i mean, generally, what happens is the guy gets fouled and misses the dunk and has to earn it from the free throw line. taj completed the dunk on one of the best and most athletic players in the nba, got fouled, and had a three-point play. make no mistake, wade wasn't in a helpless position, it wasn't a given by any stretch that taj was going to get to the rim. Wade's response after the game was defiance, saying something like "I havent been drunked on this entire year, so congrats to him. I'll take a 90 to 1 blocks-to-dunked on ratio any day. He was also seen clapping when the dunk was replayed on the scoreboard.
  16. Wonder how many besides tonight have been post-Jordan. That was the first time post-Jordan. Bulls also improved to 17-5 all time in the playoffs against the Heat. And 7-4 post Jordan.
  17. yeah, i don't recall him getting many good looks at all. Even against Asik on that that step back jump shot. Lebron drove saw nothing as Asik had the footwork and length and then bailed out for a massive step back dribble jumper. Kerr loved that D and i agreed with him, that showed talent on Asik as go ahead and beat anybody with that shot over and over again. I love Asik on D. Dude rotates like a mofo and can actually play one-one-one too. I agree. When I saw Asik switched onto LeBron beyond the 3 point line, I thought the best result of this situation is LeBron missing 1 of 2 from the line. Instead he got a bailout 3, but not because Asik did anything wrong. That was awesome.
  18. Not to pull a umfan but here goes he had 6 points and 3 boards in the first 2 minutes, but picked up the second foul and went to the bench. When he came back in, the Grizzlies defended him with either Battier/Allen+Thabo's man or Battier/Allen+Gasol if Perkins was on the floor and Thabo wasn't. He had no energy when he came back in, and the double teams dominated. Really disappointing performance in a closeout game. Out of curiosity, what is 'pulling a umfan'? Making excuses for a poor performance of a star player? going into detailed minutae to describe a minor point. oh man....tell that to my boss. Whenever he emails me about anything he has to remind me to keep my response to less than 100 words.

  20. I thought I'd read in the past that he wasn't a big baseball guy either. Yup I remember reading that too.
  21. Man I didnt even consider that the WCF was between two teams who historically underachieve in the playoffs. One of those chokers is going to choke less and accidently find themselves in the Stanley Cup Finals.
