  1. What? No. Wade [expletive] all over the floor in the Bulls series, and now Bulls fans are all too eager to declare him the leader of Miami because of a couple games in the finals. The Heat might not have made it past Boston without LBJ. God only knows what people would be saying if Lebron had Wade's game but lost the final possession in the same manner. LEBRON CAN'T CLOSE OUT, CHOKES WHEN IT MATTERS MICHAEL JORDAN LET ME SUCK YOUR DICK Cleverly props up Celtics........check Makes 'Bulls fans give MJ God-like qualities' reference........check
  2. The least number of points MJ had in a Finals game for his career was 22.
  3. Damn, didn't think I'd get into this series due to bitterness about the Bulls being out, but I am really hooked, this has been a fantastic series.
  4. 2-2! Did Wade get hit in the eye again? LOL
  5. Lebron is the better 3 point shooter than Wade but maybe Miller
  6. DIRK!!! HUGE!! He misses like every damn shot all game but seems to always come through at the end. Edit: Except game 3 :)
  7. I'm calling Dirk fouled, makes 2 FTs, LeBron 3 at the buzzer, going to OT.
  8. This is unreal. Dallas has missed like 80 wide open shots in a row and is still somehow clinging to the lead with 30 secs left. Neither team deserves this one. Hopefully Miami deserves it less.
  9. umm...its quite valid?
  10. *waits for Rosenbloom column where he makes a remark like 'Of course he wants to stay here. Why would he want to play somewhere else where he can get paid to look disinterested and halfass it with no accountability?"*
  11. Goes well with the fact that the Big League club isn't likely to contend for another 2 years. They're drafting for upside instead of a guy who could be up and very average in the next year or so. From what I've read, the Cubs appear to be doing a decent job in the draft so far. They can't be doing that great if they havent drafted any cubans yet.
  12. Douche is right. Then again, do we know the context? Maybe the pitcher brushed him back with a purpose pitch at some point in the game. I think what probably happened is the pitcher was bitching at him for admiring his HR. Who knows...more than likely he's just a giant douche though. At least he hasn't thrown his bat at any umpires yet.
  13. Perrenial contender? 0 playoff appearancs with Miggy, 1 division tiebreaker loss, and a 272-273 overall record with him on the team. They are a team that could easily decide with another DUI that having him on a .500ish team with him isn't getting them over the top and trade him for top prospects and rebuild.
  14. I'll be using the Movie Thread myself.
  15. That was probably rhetorical but oh well. 2006-2008 Aramis Ramirez (.299 .373 .533 .906) Current Matt Garza 2006-2008 Derrek Lee (.303 .380 .487 .866) Current Starlin Castro 2006-2008 Carlos Zambrano Current Carlos Zambrano Current Geovany Soto 2006-2008 Rich Hill
  16. I do agree that if the Cubs really don't expect to compete next year we should definitely trade Marmol. He has one of the higher trade values on the team.
  17. Meh, not excited with getting another bat that lacks plate discipline. I'm not sure I trust the Cubs ability to develop patience given people like Colvin, Vitters and even Castro.
  18. Overall, no. But last night was Wade's night to finish off a close game. They were clearly running the offense through him.
  19. I'm guessing you mean heavily in favor of the Mavs? Because it was. Made me chuckle and angry at the same time.
  20. Maybe the implication is that Fielder and Pujols will only come here as part of a massive FA spree becuse they want to be in contention from day 1. Pujols isnt going to sign here if we tell him, he's it but maybe in 2-3 years our farm system will be built up enough to produce a winner. The flipside to that is that they have to spend their money on some people, so might as well fill in the rsoter with 2-3 year contracts.
  21. Fans want the team fixed now, but its not Rickett's fault they are in this situation. He has his plan apparently, and he's sticking too it. I'm sure he realized the Cubs would suck this year and the fans would be turning against him, pressuring him to flip it around quickly....put some bandaids on it and fit it for 2-3 years. Basically how the Cubs, or more specifically Jim Hendry, has run the team since 2004. It's not easy to be patient, especially when the team hasn't won in so long its a late night punchline, and all your rivals have won recently, etc. but what Ricketts is doing requires patience, and if that is his plan, I am willing to not judge him for awhile. The thing that scares me though is that there really isnt a ton of "baseball people" in the front office other than Hendry and his hand appointed staff. So basically the image I get of him is a life long fan embarking on a crazy plan to turn around the team in a world he is mostly unfamiliar with. But then again, its the people who usually do things like this unconventionally are the ones who end up being successful.
  22. Stop saying this like it's fact. With the money coming off the books the Cubs could very easily be competitive as early as next season. No, it's by no means a lock, but that so many people have this automatic assumption that the Cubs are going to so hopelessly suck and can do nothing about it for the next 3+ seasons is absurd. It certainly isn't a fact but has there been any indication otherwise? The payroll was cut coming into this season. Attendance is WAY down this year and I think it is foolish to assume that the money coming off the books will automatically be put back into the payroll for 2012. What exactly has Ricketts done or said that makes you think he's committed to winning at all costs? Are you serious? Ricketts is going to respond to dwindling attendance by cutting the payroll by 25% and not put anything back into it? Ricketts knew when he bought the team that the payroll was right up to the limit and actually a little more than he could handle. So yeah because of moves made before he was owner, we've been struggling to do anything that adds payroll to the team. But there has been nothing said or done to indicate that Ricketts is going to randomly cut the payroll down to 80M or whatever. That's insane.
  23. Exactly. Sullivan and Woj on ESPN framing the issue as Z being an idiot again are dead wrong. How can anyone NOT be embarassed by this mess of a team? At least Z cares. The issue is, those bozos have an agenda and Bruce doesn't. He may not like Z (or he may, I don't know) but he's not going to try to run him out of town. He indirectly admits that what Zambrano said wasn't a "safe" comment and he's gonna catch flack for it, but he's not writing an article saying that Z might never play for the Cubs again 20 minutes after he said it. No one really knows how the Cubs management and/or Marmol took the comments, so Bruce doesn't speculate. He just says "Z said something somewhat controversial, he's not really far off from the truth, but he's gonna look like the bad guy."
  24. +1 for the Meatballs out there Haha you lose Sullivan!
  25. New blood! Time to show them what NSBB is all about.... And by that I mean, welcome them with open arms of course!
