    Guessing we’re gonna try to get a few innings from Wesneski tonight. Whether it’s the conditions or poor pitching, Steele is not long for this game. Reds have a pretty RHB heavy lineup in there tonight which helps him.

    I don’t think I can watch Cubs baseball while Seiya is still on the team. That routine fly ball scared the horsefeathers out of me.

    Almost an Eli Morrero there Again why are we playing this game? 6 walks/HBP in the last inning and a half, routine fly balls dropped (absolutely should have been caught but conditions played a factor), players falling down getting out of the batters box.

    Can’t believe he threw that pitch to Seiya. Guy makes essentially a 4 run error the previous inning, clearly by the earlier swings in the AB he’s looking to hit one 500 feet. You obviously don’t want to walk a run but…

    Anyways, a huge reason that 8 runs were scored that inning is the fact that they are playing in pouring rain, after waiting for 3 hours for the game to start, with a day game that will start maybe 13 hours after this game ends. Thankfully I think the Cubs have an off day Monday

    Jed likely saw this 83 win team and figured that Ross may have been worth -1 or -2 wins last year and Counsell could be worth 1-2 wins. And voila you have an 86 win team

    First 2 Cubs reach but we’ve reached the….offensively challenged portion of the lineup

    What the heck did Steele do? Gave up 2 singles in the inning but outside of that walked and hit a batter while it was pouring out and then gave up a pop up and a routine fly ball

    Obviously Seiya should have caught that but unreal that we had to play through pouring rain screwing with Steeles control and making that fly ball harder to catch
