  1. No I’m pretty sure this is beyond run of the mill offensive slumping for a team that thinks of themselves as competing. It doesn’t mean that they can’t fight their way out of it and be good, but I’m pretty sure the length and depth of this slump is longer and larger than normal ebbs and flows
  2. If only we didn’t blow 7 different games in the first 2 months where we held a late lead, we’d still be in decent shape
  3. Jed is not freaking going anywhere, there’s no sense in trying to get your hopes up for that. He’s exactly what Tom wants in a GM
  4. Just need to go 2-2 to finish with a better record than last May
  5. Ahh so it’s bullpen/defensive gaffe that blows it today
  6. What if our only reliable bullpen arm suddenly lost it midseason? Hope that’s not the case
  7. Yep we’re all stupid. Every night I think “I’ll just skip the next few games” but then inevitably I’ll check the score and it’s always like 0-0 or 1-0 or whatever and I get sucked in if I’m at home. It’s Charlie Brown with the football every time
  8. Entertaining read! Can’t say that I’ve ever heard of this incident before.
  9. Yeah delete this horsefeathers
  10. 9-14 in May now. I originally thought there was no way this team could play worse than they did last May but if they go 1-4 in their next 5 games they will ant least equal last years 10-18 mark. 10-17 since April 27th as well
  11. Nothing is going right for the Cubs. Even when they play with a bit of heart they get woefully unlucky. 16 hours until the next game…
  12. I don’t get this. Down 1 and you pinch hit for Wisdom with Busch knowing Gomes is on deck? Why?? fake edit: and then he PH madrigal with 2 outs. Make this make sense. I know Wisdom isn’t great against righties but that still makes no sense
  13. Busch has a hard enough time hitting high fastballs, now he’s gotta worry about getting rung up on pitches 3 inches above the zone
  14. Swanson followed with a lineout that had a .620 xBA
  15. Goldschmidt/Happ home run derby. Unfortunately one of Happ’s was a solo
  16. xBA on batted balls by the Cubs in the 8th: .470 - warning track flyout .550 - single .650 - single .390 - diving catch flyout .370 - groundout maybe the positive we can take from this is the bats are showing a little life.
  17. Of course, catch with fielders back against the ball and a diving catch this inning.
  18. Not sure it even matters since he’s signed for another 4 years and $42m after this year.
  19. Careless error by Morel opening up the possibility for a big inning by St Louis
  20. If the Cubs don’t get their horsefeathers together like overnight they could find themselves way out of the division race by Thursday. Yes giving up on an entire 4 game series before it starts is ridiculous, and I’m not actually lol, but man with how this team is playing, it’s a possibility.
  21. Washed up Goldschmidt hits his 2nd home run of the night
  22. They could avoid it by not getting picked off second base? 😂 I’m just being obnoxious now
  23. The Cubs now lead the MLB in most outs on the bases this year (25), most outs committed at 2B this year (9), most outs committed at home this year (9), 4th most outs committed at 1B this year (4) Theyre doing a decent job of avoiding committing outs at 3B this year though, just 15th in the league.
  24. Omg this team is such a horsefeathers mess. ANOTHER out on the bases. Yes maybe he shouldn’t have been called out, but he was still horsefeathers picked off of 2nd base. Unbelievable
