  1. This Florida Gulf Coast thing is crazy. The school opened in 1997! It now has 12k students. Also Chris Sale and Casey Coleman are alums
  2. Those who watch more non-B1G basketball, who should I be rooting for in the 2nd half of UNC/KU? which one is a better matchup for Michigan? I would guess UNC because KU would kill us on the boards and down low in general.
  3. B1G regular season and tourney champs lucky to survive
  4. So is Howland fired or not?
  5. Well either a 9 (Wichita St), 12 (Ole Miss) or 13 (LaSalle) is going to be in the Elite 8
  6. Nice little weekend for Raisin
  7. I would probably do the same thing but I can't stand when someone rushes up a horrible shot when there is still plenty of time left.
  8. Ok I'm changing my Final 4 to Indiana Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan St. If this is how Michigan looks when they stop playing conference opponents then the Big Ten is unstoppable.
  9. Charles Barkley sounds like he had a long night last night.
  10. Did they just say that McGary used to deliver papers on a unicycle?
  11. I wouldn't say Rosemont is bum [expletive]. It borders the city and about a 15-20 minute drive to the Loop so its not like it's in St. Charles or something.
  12. That game was like a microcosm of the Illinis season.
  13. All 3 of Michigan's best non-conference wins look like they are going down in the first round (NC St, Pitt, K State).
  14. boring day overall. a couple of close games, one nice finish, not a ton of shocking upsets.
  15. and now Burke is dead
  16. Burke is now 5-24 shooting lifetime in the NCAA Tourney
  17. "He is a confident stroker" Errm...great
  18. Yeah...a couple of times. Can't remember the specific games though Edit: One was against PSU in the Big Ten Tourney last week and also against Illinois
  19. Yeah the last 4 at large teams are selected and then sometimes bumped up or down a seed based on whatever rules the committee has for bracketing. Edit: Ole Miss, Oregon and Akron were all automatic qualifiers, Cal I read was an 11 seed on the curve but got bumped to a 12 for some reason or another....so the last 4 at large teams could have been seeded 13, 13, then St Marys and the team they beat that I've now forgotten were higher than the automatic qualifiers in the seed list
  20. Is there anything more annoying in college basketball (other than Tom Crean) than a team timeout when a TV timeout is overdue, followed by a quick foul and then the TV timeout?
  21. I think it's funny his name is Madut Bol. And he's only 6'9
  22. They did this last year and I tracked it, so I'm gonna do it again. So far only 300-500 have been announced Link: http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/9043879/ranking-top-500-major-league-baseball-players-2013-nos-401-500 61. Starlin Castro (88 last year) 113. Anthony Rizzo (346) 124. Jeff Samardzija (447) 154. Matt Garza (98) 178. Edwin Jackson (185) 194. Alfonso Soriano (296) 282. Darwin Barney (472) 296. Carlos Marmol (147) 380. David Dejesus (308) 383. Kyuji Fujikawa (NR) 387. Scott Baker (341) 388. Carlos Villenueva (NR) 411. Scott Hairston (NR) 435. Scott Feldman (NR) 473. Travis Wood (375) 474. Nate Schierholtz (429) Former Cubs/Cubs prospects: 111. Aramis Ramirez (133) 220. Ryan Dempster (227) 261. Paul Maholm (347) 314. Ricky Nolasco (214) 327. Scott Downs (237) 393. Kyle Farnsworth (280) 423: Al Albuquerque (NR) 437: Ted Lilly (246) 446: Carlos Pena (230) 453: Jerry Hairston Jr. (NR) 480: Geovany Soto (200) 498: Tom Gorzelanny (480)
  23. And that was a blowout that happened to look relatively close at the end.
  24. Is this stupid of me to say? I am not sure I like how they/ve staggered these games out more the last couple of years. I kind of liked when there were 4 sessions per day with 4 games per session all starting within 10 minutes of each other. It was fun when 2-3 games were all close and all ending within minutes of each other. Sure once in awhile you missed the ending to a close game because you were watching another one, but it kind of fed into that whole chaotic first round of march madness vibe that everyone loves. Now the games are staggered so theres like 20+ minutes in between games ending, leaving there little chance that 2 games will come down to the wire at the same time. In theory this is good, but when there are 3 games ending around the same time, there are better odds of one or more of them coming down to the wire. The way its set up now, if a game is a blowout, its a long wait in between exciting end of game moments.
  25. Every game so far was decided by double digits or currently has a team leading by double digits except Marquette-Davidson which just started.
