  1. I believe that’s the 10th loss when leading in the 8th inning or later. Like you can’t even make this horsefeathers up, there are bad players and bad decisions and all that but the team also just feels shakebit. What are ya gonna do?
  2. 2 weeks ago I was angry Last week I was saying I wasn’t even angry anymore but still felt the sting. I felt absolutely nothing when I saw the HR. Just kind of a “meh, oh well”
  3. That’s horsefeathers hilarious. Keep sending him out there haha
  4. This team is 100% incapable of having any sort of comfortable win
  5. Debating whether to laugh or cry when Neris walks the leadoff man. Tough choice
  6. 3 run leads are very rare for the Cubs, this should be cause for a parade down Michigan Ave Edit: nevermind they already gave up a run. But still
  7. wait wtf just happened? I was watching the NBA finals lol
  8. This team is definitely fun bad now. I still want them to win I suppose but I'm so much more chill about the whole thing at this point. I actually have more desire to watch the games now because they're usually entertaining even if most of them dont go the Cubs way.
  9. Ahh thats the unique way the Cubs lose today's game
  10. Such is the plight of the 2024 Chicago Cubs
  11. If you’re a pitcher you can definitely stand to be more selective pitching to Busch when you have 2 of the worst hitters in baseball this season hitting behind him
  12. For what it’s worth he does have a 2.76 ERA his last 7 starts. Doesn’t excuse being able to do almost nothing against him today in optimal hitting conditions, but it’s a little easier to swallow knowing he’s been pitching really well lately. The Cubs still suck though.
  13. I'll always remember that Cuas was the bullpen help that Jed went out and acquired the one time that he attempted to be a buyer. And he almost certainly went for Cuas over potentially better options because Cuas had several years of control. The Cubs then missed the playoffs by 1 game due to several late inning bullpen collapses, many involving Cuas playing a large part. Such a Jed move.
  14. Yeah its crazy....thats why I was hoping there's some kind of tool that says like "Most Similar Profile: Marcus Semien" (just picked a completely random choice of players, I'm not saying he's anywhere close to similar to Morel)
  15. Speaking of Baseball savant, is there a player comparison tool that finds players with a similar profile? I'd be interested to see some players with similar percentiles
  16. I mean you just have to hope that the results start matching what he's doing out there. Very unusual to have this profile and have the numbers he has.
  17. lol good point That's kind of what I figured but just wanted to verify. Either way those are a scary duo to have fronting your national team.
  18. Dumb soccer question; who is considered a better player at this point, Bellingham or Kane?
  19. Remember in 2005 when the Cubs were really struggling on offense and they randomly called up Matt Murton from AA, Adam Greenberg and sent down Corey Patterson? Not saying it necessarily worked but it felt like the Cubs were saying “this isn’t acceptable and we’re gonna try something else”. I think the Cubs went on a brief streak after that. Not sure if there’s a logical parallel with this years team but I’d like to see us find a way to shake things up and try to reduce some of the stink that is surrounding this team. Because it’s pretty horsefeathers stinky right now and after 7 weeks I don’t think “hope it gets better on its own” is going to work
  20. Even if they had the 20th best offense in the league they’d win a lot more. But over the last 7 weeks they’ve statistically had a bottom 3 offense in the league, arguably the worst. you could have 5 cy young winners in your rotation but if you have the 30th best offense and the most blown saves in the league and the most base runners thrown out on the bases in the league you are going to lose a lot of games.
  21. 353 foot flyout that probably would have won the game if it landed. That said it was only hit 91 mph and had a .110 xBA
  22. Bad luck + incompetence = bad baseball team
  23. So the Cubs are going to lose because one of the Cardinals worst hitters hit a home run on a hit that had a .080 xBA and that was too much for us to overcome. Got it
