  1. They were tied for third. Tied for second, actually. Odd to mention 3 lowest grades when there were 2 grades and 4 players. Eek - for some reason I read that as Jordan Mills at -2.9. Still, I'm sure they gave the "three lowest grades" for each team and the Bears just happened to have a three way tie at second. Well sorta, it was three lowest grades for the game, both teams included. Vikings had 2 of the 3 highest grades (Briggs was 1st) and Bears had all 3 of the lowest graded players. On a side note, will be interesting to see how the DVOA works out after this one.
  2. More PFF Grades: Yay?
  3. I'm sure Wrigley North is going to be rocking tonight!
  4. So this is only the 3rd time in the last 11 seasons that the Bears have started out 2-0, and the 4th time in the last 22 years. The previous 3 times: 2002 (Started 2-0, finished 4-12, missed playoffs) 2006 (Started 7-0, finished 13-3, lost Super Bowl) 2010 (Started 3-0, finished 11-5, lost NFC Championship)
  5. The only argument the Eli folks have are the rings. But I don't know why they don't think Robert Horry and Steve Kerr are amongst the greatest basketball players of all time. Are you comparing the QB of an NFL team to the 6th man of an NBA team in terms of their importance to winning a championship? I'm not arguing that Eli is better than Peyton, I just thought that was a silly way to prove the point.
  6. Agreed. I hate waiting all day for Sunday Night Football (or worse yet Monday night), although a few times a year is ok, but it is awesome to be able to be glued to the Red Zone Channel for the early games.
  7. Briggs was a non factor and Tillman is great as long as he can get back on field after his early injuries every game. Peppers is on vacation and there is no other talent showing up. Briggs tied for the team lead in tackles, had a TFL and 3 deflections. He was not a non-factor. he also had a QB hit. He also got run over by a QB. And tackle totals aren't particularly meaningful. Yeah LBs typically have the highest tackle numbers on the team.
  8. wow im an idiot, I thought Jay was being called a unicorn.
  9. that looks fake/pre-recorded
  10. I'm concerned about it because getting pressure from the DLine doesn't seem like something that typically develops over time. You've either got the strength/speed to impose your will on the line, or you don't. Not likely to shift very much. I think -- hate to say this -- Peppers is solidly a player in decline now. Peppers was in decline even before this season. You just wish he'd be able to pick his spots and make a few plays a game. One would hope he can still capture some of his athleticism for brief moments. He's in decline but lets not forget he has always been a player known to disappear and show up at random. He can be in decline and still be a productive player for us.
  11. Just curious, are the Steelers just a distant 2nd team for you?
  12. So how do you guys feel about the defense as a whole so far? I was worried when basically the entire coaching staff was replaced along losing Roach and Izzy (and Urlacher I guess) but was holding out hope the moves at LB would work out and the CBs would have an even somewhat similar performance from last year. But so far the results have been mixed at best. As is often pointed out, the defensive line has been terrible rushing the passer and its affecting the entire defense. The Bears have shown spurts of competence (2nd half vs. Cin, 1st half vs. Minny) and other times when they look terrible. I'll admit to not being a football analyst, are the Bears still running a defense similar to Lovie's, as they said they were going to? Is it really all on the D-line getting no pressure or are the other defensive units failing at times too?
  13. That win was anything but great. The Saints will be 1 of 3 teams in the NFC who are 2-0, with both wins against division opponents. Ugly, ugly win on the road in [expletive] conditions where there was an hour weather delay. Yes, it is a great win. Meh, the win was still mediocre at best. That said, if the Seahawks win tonight, the 3 undefeated NFC teams will each have an impressive win (Bears at home vs. Cincy, Saints at home vs. Atlanta, Seahawks at home vs. SF) and a mediocre win (Bears at home vs. Minny, Saints on the road vs. TB, Seahawks on the road vs. Carolina)
  14. Keep it going, but lets try to win this easier. Last time the Bears and Steelers played (W 17-14, 2009 - also known as Jay's first home game and W as a Bear): http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Referee-Knocks-off-Jay-Cutlers-Helmet.gif Last time the Bears and Steelers played in Pissburgh (L 21-9, 2005): http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/001/004/777/56416192_display_image.jpg?1307680972
  15. I swear the Jaguars uniforms look like NFL Europe-like
  16. And in between there was a 5 yard defensive penalty that led to a blocked kick, so he attempted 4 kicks and made 1 of them.
  17. Still in giddy mode but man there were a lot of mistakes/things to critique in this one. I'm happy with the win and have to remind myself its a new coaching staff and a work in progress.
  18. Houston/Tennessee tied after the Texans just got a TD and 2 PT conversion with under 2 mins left
  19. It was mostly me lol On one hand I still wake up in cold sweats from the Falcons game in 08. On the other hand, AP in 2007 on the same field. Different field conditions - dome vs. wet, crappy Soldier Field. Different QB too - Ponder vs. Ryan. valid points, I change my mind on that one. It was just funny that literally the first thing I thought of when Bennett got the TD was "NO SQUIB KICK"
  20. red zone channel is freaking exciting right now
  21. It was mostly me lol On one hand I still wake up in cold sweats from the Falcons game in 08. On the other hand, AP in 2007 on the same field.
  22. somehow no other games have ended so far. This will set up for joyous red zone channel watching
  23. WE WIN WE WIN WE WIN ALL IS FORGIVEN ALL PLAYERS WE HATED ON TODAY* *except the D-line, wtf guys?
