  1. Remember that game where he had 5 TDs for the stupid Packers?
  2. Amazing. I was just thinking about how useless wins are. Then you posted this, and it completely set me straight. Thank you so much. So the Bears should have won yesterday? Now I feel dumb for feeling satisfied that the Bears outgained the Saints in yardage. Dammit to hell.
  3. They outgained the Saints by over 100 yards. Had only one turnover, had a 200 yard receiver, and had a QB with a 128.1 rating. (Though admittedly QBR tells a different story on Jay.) You stat nerds are cute. Do you live in Ted Cruz' congressional district? I don't know. Is that a magical land where people care more about the final score than which team had better stats? The Bears were 7-1 last year with a bottom of the league ranked offense. How did that turn out for them at the end of the year?
  4. jesus, another year where injuries kill us. I know every team has injuries, but do they all have to be on one unit?
  5. It would be pretty gut wrenching at the point to lose to the Giants, at home, after they've been blown out 105-28 the last 3 weeks to the 1-3 Panthers and 2-3 Eagles
  6. They had Greg Olsen and couldn't do anything with him. Lovie couldn't coach offense, and couldn't hire a coach that could coach offense. There's no reason to assume what you're saying is true. Mike Martz refused to use a TE. Was he the OC last year? The biggest problem with the offense last year was the horrific OL play. You don't believe that fixing that issue would have made the offense better without any other changes (taking Bennett out of the equation)? They are starting 4 new starters on the line, 2 of them rookies. They are switching to a completely different offensive system. They've played 3 very good defenses, an average defense and a bad defense. And still they are about statistically average for the season, which is an improvement over last year. I expect them to be better offensively at the end of the season and if they aren't, then you can maybe start to evaluate Trestman.
  7. This team has made a ton of dumb penalties this year. Wasted timeout are really hurting too. A - They have? B - What the [expletive] does that have to do with his post? Yes they have had some dumb penalties. From today's game Weems' personal foul is one and Briggs' play on 4th and a yard was another. The Bears were forced to take a timeout late in the game because they didn't have the right personnel in if I remember correctly (right before the Earl Bennett drop). That timeout could have resulted in a hail Mary at the end of the game. Every team takes dumb penalties over the course of a season. I don't think the Bears take any more than other teams. I'm not saying they are excusable, but they don't set us apart from any other teams in the league IMO.
  8. Romo throws for over 500 yards, 5 TDs, Dallas puts up 48 points and the Cowboys still get Romo'd
  9. Pirates are clutch.
  10. Jesus.....Manning and Romo have combined for 10 TD passes and 824 passing yards in the same game. And theres still 7 minutes left. I miss defense in football.
  11. I'd have to look at how the contracts would work out afterwards. Basically if we did that trade we'd have to resign Deng after this year. On paper I'd say hell no as I love Noah's game and I think Jimmy is a very good Deng replacement but I am a bit worried about Noah's injuries at this point. Dude just can't seem to shake them and is typically banged up come playoff time. Last year it was the foot, the year before he had a bad ankle sprain that would have kept him out a round or two if the Bulls advanced, I think the year before his thumb wasn't right and the year before the foot again.
  12. NFC North Lions 3-2 Bears 3-2 Packers 2-2 Vikings 1-3 Pretty much the Packers are going to win the North again, probably at something like 11-5, the Lions and Bears will fight for a wild card at around 9-7
  13. Earl's drop probably didn't cost us in the end, if everything else had played out the same. Even if the Bears score a TD on that possession, its 23-17. The Saints get the ball, Briggs commits his dumb penalty which leads to a Saints FG its 26-17, the Bears go down and score and kick the XP its 26-24 so the Bears still need to recover an onside kick. Briggs' penalty was absolutely killer. Led to 3 Saints points and took off ~3 more minutes of clock.
  14. http://youtu.be/wh-IztpdQes?t=45m16s is that the last one? definitely the last one I remember. Cutler with some interesting decisions in terms of passing short on plays. Right before the halftime he passes down to the 20 yard line on the last play of the half, then right there right in the middle of the field. You cannot make that throw...id rather him throw into triple coverage around the sidelines than find someone over the middle. Throwing into triple coverage gives you a small percentage chance to win, throwing over the middle there with no one to lateral to and no chance of getting to the sidelines takes your chance of winning from 1% to 0%
  15. Just a couple of onside kicks from being 5-0 lol
  16. jesus jeffery is good
  17. yeah the frustrating thing about this likely loss is that there really isnt any one unit you can blame the majority of the loss on. Defense gives up 20 (23 technically), doesnt have any turnovers, allows a lot of 3rd down conversions, terrible penalties, etc but come on 20-27 points against the saints isnt terrible. Offense scores 10 points, offensive line was terrible early, WRs had trouble getting open in the red zone and had critical drops but can't really say thats a big reason why we lost. Coaching maybe? I don't know. Think its just a matter of a superior team coming into Soldier Field and taking care of business.
  18. jesus christ briggs, are you high?
  19. the special teams is worrysome. They look nothing like the units of the last decade. Was dreading losing Toub and the rest of the ST staff and looks like my fears were legit
  20. God that just sucks. what a horrible time for a drop like that. nothing more you can say...just a terrible thing to happen on a critical play.
  21. [expletive] off earl
  22. what do you call here?
  23. Need more zip on that Cutty
  24. Bears running the clock way too much. Pretty much setting themselves up for needing perfection to win (meaning a TD here, a stop on D and a TD to win it)
  25. Someone who can pick up on these things better than me: Cutler has had a lot more time to throw this half, and the run blocking seems to be opening up holes. Were schematic adjustments made, did the Saints change their playcalling, or is the line simply playing better?
