Vikings win. Perhaps with a little luck we can finish as high as 7th I think we'd have to pass the Giants and Panthers for that. Next weeks Bears Saints game will have a lot to say about draft positioning. The Saints looked so bad today I'm concerned the Bears might win.

Well the Lions win officially eliminated the Bears from the playoffs so what else is there to do but root for a good draft pick and maybe with a disaster pus last 3 weeks the removal of Trestman.

Well good news for the Bears today... Rams (6-7), Giants (4-9) and Panthers (4-8-1) are going to win today. Jets and Vikings are going to OT. I think we root for the Vikings here because passing a potentially 3-10 Jets team might be too difficult with 3 games left.

I just want to see a playoff where every team in the league has a legit chance to play for a title. 8 teams, power 5 conference champions, 2 wild cards and highest rated team outside power 5. That gives a little extra meaning to winning the 1 seed too as you will likely play a weaker team.

I think the justification would be: each week the rankings are based on "if the season ended today". TCU beat a 2-10 team at home, FSU beat the #11 team at a neutral site and OSU gave the #13 team a historic upset with their third string QB starting at a neutral site. This TCU's SOS is diminished and FSU (which was never going to be left out being the only undefeated team in the country) and OSU had major boosts to their SOS.

They played Florida, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma State in non-conference. Normally that would be a tough slate of games. No ones arguing that they didn't try to have a tough schedule, just that they didn't.

Good god, this. Derrick is 6th in the league in 3PA per game with 6 a game at just about 30% shooting. There are 38 players averaging more than 4 3PA per game and only one player is shooting as badly as him...Kobe

OSU would default to the Rose Bowl right? or is the Rose one of the playoff sites? Normally OSU would default to the Rose in this scenario, but the Rose is a semifinal game. OSU would get an auto bid to one of the other NY6 games. Same applies to the Big 12. If the committee picked OSU, whoever the B12 decided was the champ (they'll pick someone if neither TCU or Baylor make it) would normally default to the Sugar, but since that's the other semifinal they'd get an auto bid somewhere else. In this case, of course, both would get NY6 games anyway by virtue of their ranking. It's a little complicated. I've read that if neither Big 12 team gets picked for the playoff, Baylor would go to Cotton by virtue of head to head win and TCU to the Holiday Bowl. What a potential fall from 3rd playoff spot to Holiday bowl after winning a game against a conference opponent by 52 points.

There is no way to justify OSU taking one of the playoff spots right? Bama and Oregon blew out their conference championship games, Florida State is undefeated and TCU destroyed their bad opponent. If TCU was 4 I could see a committee argument that OSU can jump them but I cannot see OSU jumping FSU and I can't see TCU dropping below FSU and OSU just because TCU had a cupcake their last game.

I almost think the committee moved TCU to 3 last week to prevent them from the controversy of bumping a team from the playoff after a blowout victory. I don't know if that makes any sense, I just came up with that

Bears and Bulls a combined 4-9 at home and 13-7 on road

Meh they will face a team in the playoffs that has a 4 that can actually guard stretch 4s and will lose. The bulls just have too many players playing hurt or out of basketball shape right now. The defense is starting to become a major concern though. It's just not getting better...

I could be wrong but didn't one of the mid-majors who have their conference tournament early schedule a non-conference game AFTER their tournament? I want to say it was a Midwestern team and they were on the bubble for an at large bid at the time

My friend reasoned that UM has 1 WTF loss per season 11: Ohio (in the tourney) 12: winless in B1G Penn State 13: UNC-Charlotte 14: NJIT of course NJIT is by far the worst and this one was at home. Damn.

Jesus. Michigan is losing at home to NJIT by 7 with 9 mins left NJIT 10-15 from 3 in the game. Several of them off balanced and heavily contested

Probably trying to temper expectations but whatever. You need to spend like $40 million to even have a respectable mid market payroll.
