  1. Having spent lots of time there over the last decade due to in laws, yes. Like jersey said, its pretty much not a city.
  2. I might have to break out the 2 TV and Computer trick for tonight. Hawks on the big TV, Cubs on my second TV and Bulls streaming on computer. Last time I did that, all 3 teams won.
  3. If we win this game we will be 2 games over .500 for the first time since April 13, 2015
  4. Are you sure you want to use Chapman here Price?
  5. If Szczur hits a walk off, I will call him salad
  6. Our team ERA is about 12th in the NL out of 15 teams, and our OBP is about 10th last I checked. Not sure I feel that's too impressive. There's more to pitching and hitting than just ERA and OBP Yeah like W/L and RBIs
  7. I am not sure I would let you operate on me
  8. They could bring up Chris Valaika, but that would just be trolling the MLBPA at this point.
  9. You just know he's getting an off day whenever Bryant debuts just so they can deprive us of seeing the peak awesome lineup for at least another day.
  10. My my, I did have fun with those stats.
  11. Err isn't Seabrook signed through next season? Or are you talking about long term since you are talking about an expansion draft, which I am not sure will happen this offseason. Seabrook is signed thru 2015-16. And if some team like the Oilers offered a 32 year old defenseman 10 million a year? Well god bless them. http://www.spotrac.com/nhl/chicago-blackhawks/brent-seabrook/ That would be more reassuring if the Hawks had anybody even remotely as good coming through the pipeline. Hopefully Johns grows to be that guy but it will take time if it happens at all. Teams like the Oilers have to overpay- just like the Hawks had to overpay Campbell- because why else would anyone want to play there? Duncan Keith is almost a 32 year old defenseman. Do you think a team would be willing to pay him a lot of money to lure him away? I know that Keith and Seabrook are not the same player, Keith has won the Norris, etc. but Seabrook would be a great captain for a young, upcoming team. Lots of GMs put a lot of value on that experience. Also this could be selective memory but it seems like defensemen tend to age well. Guys like Chelios, Lidstrom, even Timonen were productive into their late 30's. I think any team that would sign Seabrook at 32 would have a decent chance to get 4-5 good years out of him. Edit: Actually now that I think about it, NHL players in general
  12. I guess that's official as official gets. Glad that dude is a fast healer.
  13. An expansion draft might be a blessing in disguise if you are talking about shedding unneeded salary(Bickell for example) Well maybe...but even with Bickells performance and the lesser than expected cap growth, I think you'd still be able to get a 3rd or 4th for Bickell vs. losing him for nothing.
  14. Err isn't Seabrook signed through next season? Or are you talking about long term since you are talking about an expansion draft, which I am not sure will happen this offseason.
  15. Is it too early for advanced defensive stats to mean anything? I'd be interested to see how much his offense negates his issues in LF. I am assuming he's a safe net positive right now.
  16. I think that's definitely the case.
  17. It's going to be like 55. What the [expletive] is wrong with you? I mean...I just went last night and I'm planning on going Saturday and maybe Friday. Am I going to go every time the tickets don't sell? I guess that shouldn't be an issue much longer as the team does better and the weather improves, but with concessions and crap it would start to get expensive. The tickets are a sunk cost. Also I like watching good pitching on TV. You could offer them up to NSBBers for respect points. Of course I move away from lakeview the year before the Cubs are exciting again. At least I got to enjoy going to a ton of games in 2008.
  18. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=5&season=2008&month=0&season1=2008&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Thanks, I went back and edited my post with the comparison.
  19. I want to see how they compare (through 6 games) to the 2008 Cubs, as that was the last time I remember the Cubs working the count well and laying off bad pitches. On Sunday, the game winning 9th inning rally started with a walk. Yesterday, Rizzo started off the 8th inning with a walk right before Soler's HR. In the 9th Montero lead off with a walk and almost scored, and the 10th inning started with another Rizzo walk. Great stuff. Edit: Answered my own question. Top line is 2015 Cubs through 6 games, bottom is 2008 Cubs http://i.imgur.com/NEAPX4R.png
  20. 23.2 IP and 2 ER for pitchers who actually deserve to be in the majors.
  21. Does anyone else get chills when you see the replays of Solers HRs and realize that he is going to mashing balls into those bleachers for the next 6+ years?
  22. Let's ask Aroldis Chapman. http://cdn.meme.am/images/188548.jpg LMAO
  23. Seems to be happening a lot to the Cubs this year. I will take it!
