  1. Miggy really undersold this team... #wearegreat
  2. I hated eastern time with a fierce and undying passion when I lived out there. In large measure due to having to wait until 8pm for Cubs games, football and other "event" driven television. The last time I lived on the east coast I was in college and staying up til 3am every night so it didn't bother me but yeah that would piss me off these days.
  3. Yikes. Nobody is going to out-miserable this. seriously like, these playoff series go 5 and 6 games all the time. it's not ideal but it's fine. this is one of those annoying scrappy teams that scraps these games out. reminds me a little of the pacers in the 2010-11 first round. The celtics scrapped by a 38 win Hawks team in 7 games and then went on to win the championship
  4. We look like we've never played with each other before this series We also kind of look like we hate each other
  5. And JR Smith suspended 2 games Pretty favorable outcome for the Bulls. I'm not used to them having fortunate things happen
  6. That's when I was thinking. I know the first round could still be going on..I think wednesday would be the last of the potential game 7's but the NHL has routinely started the next round when the first round is still going on when necessary. Everyone seems to think Thursday is out because of the draft being in Chicago so Friday is really the only other option, unless the Bulls win tonight making Saturday a possibility. If it's on Wednesday though they better announce it very very soon like within the next few hours.
  7. I believe it was a relatively close, evenly played series without ever feeling that way. Exactly. The first two games I think the Hawks had leads most of the game it the Wild came back before the Hawks won at the end. The middle 2 games in St Paul were won by the Wild, then the Hawks won a very close game 5, and then game 6 went into OT where Kane won the series with a goal And all of that was with the Wild losing their starting goalie, Backstrom, during warmups of game 1. That was actually 2 years ago I believe

  9. @WindhorstESPN: Nothing will be known for sure until MRI but word within Cavs team tonight is Kevin Love likely out a minimum of 2 weeks.
  10. Hopefully at least his shooting is off as he deals with pain
  11. Hawks and Wild it is. Last year's series was pretty damn close even though I think most of us weren't super concerned. This team looks even tougher than last year.
  12. Great thing is that there is only 1-2 games so far this year that we were just not competitive in. We are playing well enough to win most days
  13. Guess that means Jake is coming back for the 6th
  14. Glad he got out of it but I hope you guys like sweating through Schlitter, Edwin, etc
  15. So no setbacks and perhaps Grimm is back up in 7-10 days? Ramirez closer to 2 weeks?
  16. its funny it took me a minute or two before it clicked with me that this could be news that positively impacts us. Takes you awhile to get used to being relevant again. Hope Wainwright can recover for next year. Sucks when anyone goes down, even a stupid Cardinal. I'm sure whoever replaces him in the rotation will have a .089 BABIP against or something.
  17. Oh come on you know it's my thing. And I'm gloating about how awesome we are and how sustained our success will be. You should appreciate that.
  18. ^ true Reading the Predators blog, one guy said something like oh well they are old we will pay them back eventually Err I'm pretty sure most of our core save Hossa is 30 or younger. We will take a step back with cap issues but when you have 2 of the best ~5-6 players in the league and they are both 26, the Hawks are going to be relevant for awhile
  19. So do we cheer for home ice against Minnesota, or cheer for the Blues because you know they will choke eventually so it might as well be against the Hawks? I think all things equal we have a better shot against Minnesota but they would be super super motivated to beat us after losing to us 2 years in a row. I don't have stats handy but I'm sure it's hard to beat a team 3 years in a row in the playoffs
  20. Hawks are 9-0 in Game 6's with a chance to clinch under Q. The only game 7s we've had were games where we came back to tie a series
  21. I know right? Amazing. Will never take this for granted as long as it lasts.
