  1. I'm not sure that's how you meant to phrase that Haha whoops. Other way around
  2. Jackson has pitched well? I am assuming I am missing something because my baseball knowledge dwarfs yours, but I see a 4.85 xFIP
  3. Dunleavy? He's a free agent, who I don't see being brought back. Yeah in that Lowe article he pointed out that if/when the Bulls sign Butler to a max they will be 1.6m under the tax without accounting for Dunleavy or an Aaron Brooks replacement. I guess it's possible they would go over the tax simply because they won't have to pay Boozer $15 mil not to play for them this year but you also want to be careful any time you go over the tax due to the potential of repeater penalties down the road. Basically is it worth going over the tax to bring back the same team swapping out Brooks for a more consistent backup PG? I think it's more likely they trade Taj or Noah and either resign Dunleavy or use the full MLE for a more athletic wing.
  4. I hope he's ok so I don't have to feel bad about laughing my ass off
  5. @BruceMiles2112: #Cubs scoreboard operators take down "NITE GAME" from CF board and starting posting night-game pitchers
  6. Welp Bryant will have to homer to get the Cubs within 2
  7. Yeah but what is the Cubs record when Wood bats but doesn't pitch Fred?
  8. Was there a lefty warming up? If not, no thought to use Coghlan there?
  9. Soler with a chance to win it with a fly ball for the second time in three days
  10. that was nice of the Cubs to let Rondon get a save opportunity.
  11. Cubs have scored in 5 straight innings, scoring multiple runs in 4 of them. This is the opposite of watching what the Cardinals did to us last week. Every inning we are threatening.
  12. Man these guys really want their disco party today
  13. That's exactly what I thought. My first thought was "idiot fans overreacting to a fly ball" then it was "well it's going far but it was hit high enough to be caught" then it was "wait why is the OF stopping and looking back, maybe he's trying to deke out Fowler or something" then "wait that's a no doubter holy hell!"
  14. If only it was oppo we would have to call Gilby "Dongrodamus"
  15. Holy [expletive] that swing would have produced a lazy fly ball for 95% of all MLB batters
  16. This is another one of those things where there's nothing wrong with what he said but probably a dumb thing to say to the ravenous media. Of course I could be hearing this quote way out of context as well.
  17. I also saw Adrian Griffin mentioned
  18. They traded for him that deadline. Came along with Grabow For two guys who I can't remember who mostly took up some DL space. Oh, and some throw in low A guy. Who played in the all star game for us last year. We had to actually give you something of value this time after giving you garbage for Aramis.
  19. My memories of 2009: -That 3 game sweep over DeRosa, Wood and the Indians. I think 2 of the 3 games were late comebacks, and one of the games was won by a walk off walk. Also young Indian Luis Valbuena hit 3 HRs in the series. -The Cubs running over Houston in late July/early August. In one of the games (that I was at) Soriano hit a walk off grand slam in the 12th inning. -Getting destroyed by the Phillies in a series, with the Cardinals winning every game during the stretch. Hmm that's about it. It was a lost year. I have a similar lack of memories of the 2005 Cubs, a similar .500ish team coming off back to back exciting seasons and headed for a 90+ loss season the next year.
