  1. It's alright guys, David Ross has got this! And if he doesn't we have Soriano coming in to hold it where it is so our boys can get another crack in the 8th
  2. Nice try Castro. Maddon outsmarted you though!
  3. I thought this was interesting... I've seen a lot of people complain that the Cubs aren't taking advantage of bad starters, and we've seen some bad ones over the last 11 games (including tonight through the 4th inning). Combining their stats, the average opponent starter over the last 11 games has a 4.40 ERA. The starters ERA against the Cubs over the last 11 games is.... 4.23. So slightly below average. Obviously you expect better from a team with as much offensive potential as the Cubs, but I think people think we have been anemic against these garbage starters, and in reality we are hitting them about how they've been hit by everyone else.
  4. That's a critical run. Why don't you challenge?
  5. If Ross is so great why does it seem like teams run on him with reckless abandon?
  6. Cool turn it off then. We'll all stop posting too so no need to come back and check on this thread
  7. Jesus I've seen like 3-4 pitches squarely in the zone called balls this inning
  8. jake definitely not as sharp the last 2 starts.
  9. Schwarbs 2 for last 14. Mallee effect? Sorry I can't help myself :)
  10. What in the [expletive] was that Fowler?
  11. It's a rehab assignment, it's not unusual for them to not play the full game
  12. Starlin just doesn't want to be traded. He will turn it on after the deadline. Right??
  13. Of course we can't get him home with less than 2 outs
  14. Bryant isn't in the lineup either tonight
  15. [tweet] [/tweet] This deadline is bananas
  16. He's been pulled from every Iowa lineup this year :) Was he pulled from Tennessee lineup or was he never in it to begin with?
  17. So I think that leaves the Cubs, Twins and Giants as the only teams within 3 games of a playoff spot to not either make a move or declare themselves sellers. Will be interesting to see how the final 24 hours plays out as it seems like everyone is in a trading frenzy
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] Would be mildly funny to watch the reactions of Cubs fans if we did nothing and the Sox traded for Upton and/or Cespedes. Or at least would slightly lessen the disappointment of standing pat.
  19. This. I'd do that in a heartbeat. I get that they might be trying to hold off trading Baez, but I hope the front office isn't delaying this by caring about guys like Underwood. They want Baez? Give us Upton or Kemp and he's theirs. Who wouldn't jump at the opportunity to add a player who has a combined 2 WAR over the last 3 seasons and is making $86 million the next 4 seasons after this one? And all we have to do is trade one of our better trading chips? Wow, sign me up. $32 million is the going rate for a a win right?
  20. If we are willing to take Gyorko and his salary (who by the way has a .880 OPS against lefties this year and .785 and a .688 OPS overall on the road so we might be able to get some use out of him), I bet, we could cut Underwood out of the deal.
