deGrom imo. I think Snydergaard has more upside in his career but deGrom is a better pitcher now, plus the whole thing about Snydergaard throwing 100+ pitches in the pen/mound on Thursday, talk of him having a sore arm, young pitcher greatly exceeding innings limit, etc -
If/When the Cubs win the World Series we should make sure to have all of Lesters starts after Nov 1 because he's still doing that every other month mediocre/great thing April, June, August, October - no ERA below 4.50 May, July, September - no ERA above 2.36

It's impossible to put any positive thoughts into anything after this day of sports losing. Perhaps I should stop posting and go to bed.

Bryzzo a combined 6-43 (.139) in the playoffs. We've done well so far but it will be really hard to win the World Series with our 2 best hitters hitting so poorly. On the positive side, they have 3 HR and 4 total XBH between them but I'd like to see more consistent hitting

Hoping Snydergaard's supposed sore arm causes him to have poor control and/or limits his pitch count. Probably won't matter because God-mode is pitching.

MSU didn't even send anyone back to return the punt. All UM had to do was have their punter catch the snap and kick it in the air and they win. Hell even after the muff, if he just falls on it at the 40, MSU has 6 seconds to either convert a Hail Mary or gain 20 yards while getting out of bounds in 5 seconds to have a reasonable attempt at a FG into the wind. Their win probability was apparently 99.8%. Basically 2 rather improbable errors had to occur plus MSU had to set up blockers and return it for a TD. I just don't see any reason to do anything differently except for hindsight

This loss would be much more manageable if I didn't spend 4 hours preparing for a stomach punch right before this game started. Now I just want to give up on this day and go to bed. My wife is wondering why I chose to spend 7 hours ignoring my family only to emerge from it despondent

Gotta win tomorrow. Don't want to rely on Hendricks/Hammel/pen to get us back into the series. I think we will be much better tomorrow

I hate knee jerk reactions. Knee jerk perhaps, but Rizzo hasn't had a hit with runners on since Milwaukee. So 5 games ago? Yea yea. I'm overreacting. You can't blame me for feeling like the Milwaukee series was a month ago. Well I am just thinking and I don't even remember too many instances of him hitting with runners on. Maybe I'm wrong. But when Bryant has 3 hits and one of them was a HR, Schwarber has been donging most of his hits, and Fowler has been really quiet since the WC game it really limits his chances to hit with runners on

Weird? That's Scwarber Weird because it didn't look nearly as impressive as the one in Pitt or the one he pulled at Wrigley. Well the ones at PNC and Wrigley were down the line. This one was to right center in a particularly cavernous park.

I guess Coghlan will PH for Lester then. But Maddon has been making some puzzling moves today so t will probably be Denofria or something. Actually probably Jackson who will come in and replace Soler

Small sample size but Coghlan has a good history against Harvey too. Have no idea what Maddon is doing here. At all. But he's been right way more than wrong so I'll take it.
