    This is exactly why I think we can trade Rose this offseason without having to take on a bad contract. When the cap explodes, so does the floor, and team would rather take a risk on a guy like Rose in his walk year and own his bird rights rather than disperse the difference between your payroll and the cap floor amongst your current players? The Sixers are looking to make their team semi-relevant again...wouldn't trading one of their many 2nd rounders for Rose be something they would strongly consider?

    Oh that's right, he had the oppo HR in the 6 HR day. Either way, the point remains. Awesome moment, not worthy of permanent memoriam given the circumstances. I just think it's weird to have removed it and then put it back up. Crane says it was removed because they were doing work on the video board this winter and didn't want someone to swipe it.

    Why did they paint the reverse side of the marquee in their old green colors? Are they planning on reversing it on occasion or something?

    lmao, they thought 'yeah we are one of the 16/30 teams that make the playoffs every year' was a selling point to FAs? Even funnier is that this influenced their decision to keep Pau and they still didn't make the playoffs.

    I might be in the minority, but I wish they wouldn't have done this. That home run was amazing, but it was also one of 6 that day in a non-clinching NLDS win in a season that ended in the NLCS. No need for it to be there permanently. Except that HR was in the clinching game although the HR didn't tie or put the cubs ahead, it was more or less an explanation point in one of the biggest Cubs wins in the last 100 years (although that in and of itself is sad) and was visually a piece of artwork. Edit: David beat me as usual

    I think if he wasn't wearing that ski mask and generally looking miserable in the cold there wouldnt have been as much discussion. Plus I think Joe made some comments last year about how uncomfortable he was out there.

    Finnegan is a lefty so I'm guessing either Soler or Szczur is starting in LF today. Well the reason I say that is because LaStella hits lefties better than righties, Soler's career splits have slightly favored him hitting against RHP (although most of that was his 2014 sample, his 2015 splits were almost even in terms of OPS), and of course the controversial "soler sucks in the cold".

    what in the hell? I pity the guy that actually took the time to put that graphic together thinking he found some way to make the Cardinals look better than the Cubs. This must be hard on all of them.

    Sucks Lester starts the home opener, I'd love to see the full lineup in there. Looks like temps will be in the mid-40s for this one. Will be interesting to see if Soler plays or they keep the red hot TLS in the lineup and Bryant in LF.

    No playoff hype? Blues/Hawks starts Wednesday From looking online, virtually every prediction I've read has been the Blues. I think the trendy pick is 'Hawks have a lot of issues and this is the Blues year to finally get over the hump" However I see it as 'We saw this two years ago and heard the same things, why would this year be different?' I say Hawks in 6 First Round: Hawks in 6 Stars in 7 Ducks in 5 Kings in 5 Panthers in 6 Lightning in 5 Caps in 4 Rangers in 7

    Historically has Fowler been as streaky as he was last year? By that I mean he was pretty bad until mid-July and then freaking awesome the rest of the year. If so, I don't want him to waste his good half in the 1st half!

    Can I just say that I'm still dumbfounded that the DBacks gave up so much for Shelby Miller. He's not a bad pitcher by any means but they gave up a haul for an top 10 ace when Miller is more of a low end #2
