  1. 36th including last night actually (2.67 ERA in 104.1 IP), but giving up walkoffs to the Cardinals immediately disqualifies him from consideration.
  2. I don't see the need to start 7 different threads for each of the pen guys, so in this thread we discuss them all here. Saw this on reddit - Hector Rondon has the lowest ERA of any pitcher in baseball over the last calendar year (min 60 IP) http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=60&type=8&season=2016&month=10&season1=2016&ind=0&team=0&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0&sort=16,a Strop 40th TWood 58th
  3. I don't think anyone has seen him play unless they were watching the World's where he was one of the most impressive players on a Czech team that was the surprise of the tournament supposedly. But I love the Blackhawks commitment to upgrading defense with Kempny, Forsling and Dahlstrom. If Bowman saw the defensive talent out there this offseason and that influenced his decision to not upgrade more on defense last trade deadline, I feel a little better about the decision even thought it might have cost us a Cup run. Likely at least 1 of those guys will end up a top 4 player
  4. Hard to say, I like to think of Schwarbs as the dong hitting machine he was most of last year but he had a 6 week stretch where he was pretty mediocre too. Team is very streaky. Not sure if it's by chance or something the Cubs are doing that creates very streak hitters. I think that's just baseball and mostly every team has that. I doubt the Cubs carry any more streakiness/variance than every other team does. I know that's just frustratIon talking. That said I'm frustrated in general with how streaky Rizzo is which seems to be more than the average hitter with his skill level. He was downright dreadful for a lot of the 2nd half last year, and the last 10 games or so but he's also been insanely good for stretches. If there is a way to do so I want to limit streakiness as much as possible as I am scared it's going to show up negatively at the worst time this October

  6. Btw the Cubs run differential during this 4-8 stretch? +6
  7. Strange that we lose this game in the 9th while our 7th 8th and 9th inning guys do not pitch. Not really sure why Warren needed a 2nd inning there. Rondon hasn't pitched since last Wednesday! Strop and Grimm have each pitched an inning in that span. So 2 IP for your top 3 relievers combined in the last 5 games and you let Warren pitch a 2nd inning
  8. Another 1 run loss. This team has to be like 3-4 wins behind their pythag now
  9. I'd rather have any pitcher but Hammel going tomorrow. Oh well we still win
  10. No not really. What's more indicative of their true ability the first 30 games or the last 12? I'm guessing based on the 97 wins and NLCS appearance last year that the former is. We will be fine but damn if this isn't frustrating to watch right now.
  11. Ok record (+15) and games ahead (+5.5) looking slightly less sexy. Let's get some wins starting tomorrow.
  12. This is the worst post in the history of NSB(B). Congrats
  13. The potential of getting walked off by the Cardinals is not fun
  14. They are pitching great other than Lesters last start
  15. Can't even be mad at Fowler there. You have to go
  16. Zobrist is like a switch hitting Ichiro or something
  17. I feel like we haven't seen the consistent engine of death we resembled in early May for a while. It didn't take me long to get spoiled It's been a little over a week. These slumps historically seem to last 1-2 weeks so sooner than later we will get out of it
  18. Where is the explosion off Javys bat? 2 times tonight I thought he squared up the ball well and both were harmless fly outs
  19. damn I was hoping it was going off of Hollidays dong
  20. Seigrist it's ok to come out. Kyle Schwarber is not here
