  1. id rather be on my couch watching but this isn't bad either. I didnt realize how easy it is to get a quality stream these days. Hypothetically....how easy is it? hypothetically if you google 'live sports streaming' you might come up with several results that stream all sports games. you click on one of them, say "stream2watch.co" as a hypothetical example, then you click on the Cubs game, and 97% of the time its a perfect HD stream
  2. Szczur with Lil Troy as his walkup music hmmm
  3. sounds like a delay is inevitable. Hope not, Lester already threw over 20 pitches
  4. Fowler-Zobrist at the top of the lineup is unstoppable.

  6. Yep, the only thing I would have more confidence putting money on is Lenny's bet in the politics thread.
  7. Looks like the wind is blowing out 12 mph to LF. Dong it up boys!
  8. Or that Wrigley is playing more like a hitters park this year than last year. (Which would make sense given that Wrigley bizarrely played as a pitchers park last year for the first time I can remember) Is it? I assumed with all the crappy weather and wind blowing in it would be playing like a pitchers park. But given that the team with the 2nd most RPG in baseball plays there, that might have something to do with it. Edit: Is ESPN's park factors a reliable source? If so, Wrigley was 14th with a .950 runs scored, so slightly below average. This year its 17th at .943. But again, the weather has been really shitty, and last years numbers include a nice July-September where the hitting conditions were mostly great.
  9. Kris Bryant is remarkably consistent 2015 .275/.369/.488/.858, 133 OPS+, 5.9 WAR (B-R) 2016 .279/.368/.503/.870, 133 OPS+, 6.1 WAR (on pace, 151 games played) Power up a tick, but looks like hitting is up in general given the identical OPS+ numbers. Is on pace for 34 2B and 34 HR (in 151 games) vs. 31 and 26 respectively last year.
  10. I have nothing against the Sharks. They bent over for us the only time we played them in the playoffs. Pittsburgh has Trevor Daley who reminds me of Bowman's merry-go-round of blue liners this year and how it failed because Daley has been great, Sharp was good, Scuderi sucked, and Ehrhoff barely played.
  11. David Ross on the score said that Rizzo is not in the lineup today #whosonfirst
  12. I can't wait until 2-3 years from now when the 2nd wave comes up and the fans of other teams are like "wtf how is this still happening! Make it stop!"
  13. Very annoying. Then again our bats seem to have woken up thanks to Butters, and they can't keep putting up 9-2 stretches. Facing Atlanta, Colorado and Arizona will certainly help make a team look better. well unless you are the Cubs. They beat up on good teams only
  14. These team twitter account exchanges are amusing until you think about the fact that its just 2 bored social media guys tweeting gifs and memes to each other.
  15. Pirates are starting to get annoying. 9-2 in their last 11 if they win today, and cut our 9 game lead in half in 11 days
  16. One thing I learned from the article is that it's almost July.
  17. So the Dodgers starting pitching outside of Kershaw and mostly Maeda has been disappointing, meanwhile the Giants are starting to run away with the division, while the Nat/Mets and Pirates are putting space between them and the Dodgers in the WC. It's of course early but if he's ready to start once, shouldn't he just join the rotation?
  18. I try not to give 2 shits about the White Sox, and honestly the team doesn't bother me that much. I grew up actually liking both teams, just the Cubs more. But their fans have really ruined it for me, and to see how worked up they get about the Cubs and our fans are like: http://65.media.tumblr.com/8160d0f9846b74c1a27e3784dba8c777/tumblr_nizvh6xAcH1rotnino1_1280.jpg Anyways, this is the most recent thing I read from Sox fans: I know they can't truly believe that jibberish, so I have to assume that they are posting this non-sense in hopes that saying it as much as possible will make it true. Oh and the best part is bragging about winning the World Series in 1917 as one of their 2 titles since the Cubs last one. It makes me laugh that they say the Cubs are losers but they are the team that a) has made the playoffs SIX times since 1919 (vs 12 for the Cubs), b) has made the playoffs 5 times since Chicago baseball took off Octobers for the 60s and 70s (vs 7 for the Cubs), c) have won a playoff series in ONE season since 1919 (vs. 2 for the Cubs), d) have made 2 World Series since 1919 (vs. 5 for the Cubs but not much to brag about since the last was 1945). Yes we can never take away that 2005 World Series, congrats, but if we are losers, they are right there with us.
  19. He's not a productive 40 minute player, but interesting to point out that his per 100 possession numbers for assists and rebounds were career highs last year playing ~20 minutes a game. Obviously his knees will never be completely the same, but taking almost a year off probably has to be a good thing for them. I think he will be something like 75% of old Jo for the next 2-3 years.
  20. Feel like we've had a ton of day games this year, home and road. In this homestand alone, 8 of the 10 games are during the day. Overall, a quick count shows 34 night games, 42 day games, and 3 TBD at Wrigley this year. I feel like we've had more in recent years but I could be wrong.
  21. On the Blues reddit one of the fans said "oh well at least we fucked the Blackhawks" Yeah we are hurting so badly with our 3 recent cup wins
  22. I wish more of this stuff was accessible on youtube. YouTube highlights for the cubs didn't pick up til lately. That's because until about a year or two ago nothing was allowed on YouTube.
