  1. Maddon has to be pissed he had to burn Hector tonight
  2. Am a little concerned about our pen outside of Rondon and Strop
  3. check out Duke's latest front page article. I started reading it. Will finish at work tomorrow. I know it's an improvement over 2014 but there are still glaring issues that I feel lowers his ceiling considerably
  4. Oh dear Javy. Not an impressive night. Clearly he still has pitch recognition issues. Is there still time to correct this? I mean this isn't someone average looking to become above average. This is someone with poor recognition and skills.
  5. Our starters have been so horsefeathering good lately it's unreal
  6. I thought for sure that AB was toast after he guessed so badly and swung at the pitch before. Glad to be wrong
  7. Pat was like "first pitch to Bryant taken outside....corner strike 1"
  8. Nah. I mean it would be a bit of a sham but at least Russell is 22 and has multi-all star ceiling. Infante...does not
  9. Can't remember the last time I saw a team have 4 hits, 2 of them for extra bases and 3 with RISP and only score 1 run despite no outs committed on the basepaths.
  10. Was that a Maddon challenge? If so that is a shitty outcome for him
  11. What the horsefeathers? Idiot fans interfere with the ball and Bryant has to go BACK a base? horsefeathers that horsefeathers
  12. Keep waiting for Heyward to prove he deserves to hit second behind Fowler
  13. They need our money, we need their credibility. Next step is a full-on confederation merger, travel be damned. Edit - these are terrible ideas. I'd love to have the US be permanent participants, but this is not a good thing. 1) Instead of 4 tournaments over 3 years (for example Copa/Gold Cup in 2015, Copa/Gold Cup in 2017), you are having 1 tournament over 4 years (Copa America in 2016). I'm sure the Gold Cup doesnt make a ton of money, but does 1 tournament split between 2 confederations really make more money than 2 tournaments per confed? 2) How do they award Confederations spots? I would assume there would still be 1 per confederation, so you couldnt just do 'the 2 finalists' because that could be Brazil vs Argentina or something. 3) Officials in Argentina are really ok with doing away with the old copa and holding their tournament 5000 miles away every single time? How about the poorer countries? Just seems odd. I like things the way they are now but maybe every 20 years do an event like right now.
  14. I'm declaring this series over. Cleveland might win both at home but there is no way they are going 4-1 against team that is 87-14 so far this year. LeBron will be 2-5 in Finals and only a miracle 3 from Ray Allen is keeping him from 1-6. Maybe it's not fair to judge ones legacy on how many titles they won or what your record is in NBA Finals series is because obviously the team around you matters, and making 6 straight finals with 2 teams is pretty impressive. But fair or not, he will be historically judged on his finals record. Even today Wilt is typically pushed down a spot or two in the all time rankings for many people and the first reason they mention is that, compared to his contemporary Bill Russell, he did not win as often. Although MJ and LeBron's careers did not intersect, the latter started immediately after the former retired and I believe they will be compared historically and LeBron's comparison will not ultimately be favorable
  15. Definitely sounds like a Mark Clark start
  16. Still waiting for that tweet that says something like "Arrieta is the first pitcher in big league history to pitch 5 innings and have 90+ percent of his balls allowed in play be hits"
