    9 ER in his last 2 starts. Probably had 9 ER in the second half last year. I guess whatever magical fix they had for Jake hasn't taken effect yet.

    Half of those games have come in the last 18 days where the Cubs have been in an offensive funk (relative to April and May) punctuated by multiple rookies playing everyday and making adjustments. They will be fine long term

    Keep in mind the Mets just came off a 4 game losing streak that included a Nats 3 game sweep where the Mets scored a total of 6 runs. But I guess the Nats didn't throw a sh!tstick named Hammel out there

    We have the best record in baseball and are going to win over 100 games. I don't find that disheartening. you know exactly what i'm saying. you don't have to pretend like you haven't been disappointed in the team lately. Lately? Sure. To say this is turning into a disappointing season though is strange. You are a good poster not known for overreacting though so I'm gonna assume you just meant this stretch is disappointing.

    Nobody in baseball has hit more home runs than Kris Bryant has this year. No one in the National League has hit as many HRs as Kris Bryant this year.

    Hey at some point they went from playing out of this world to slumping. Based on record alone this is when the "slump" started record wise. I put slump in parenthesis because we're still 14-12 in that period which is an 87 win pace I think he's talking more about the idea that we can't beat good teams and can only beat bad teams now. Everyone knows we haven't played as well. But there's nothing to this sub-.500 and above-.500 split. It's small sample size nonsense. So this is where I get annoying and everyone hates it but I can't help myself. I know that doesn't say anything about the 2016 Cubs I just like get off on tidbits like that for some reason.

    Remember when we were discussing Cubs starter regression and debating how bad it would be? Granted the starters haven't been horrible at all but there's been a clear downgrade in results the last 3 weeks.
