    My buddy compared his numbers as a Cub to Jakes Cub stint in 2013 and they are nearly identical. Not that it means anything. At all.

    The Brewers should know the optimal strategy in this series is to lose today. The Cubs will be hung over tomorrow (except Bryant he will just randomly have a stomach bug) and will probably play a lot of reserves Saturday and Sunday

    It depends on when the tiebreaker would be played. If the tiebreaker is on Monday after the season (which would make sense as AL WC game is on Tuesday), then you actually put yourself in a position where the team's ace can go games 2 and 5, although it's highly likely that team uses their ace on Saturday or Sunday. If they use the ace on those 2 days and advance to the LDS, then the ace is set to pitch game 1 (if they don't start on short rest in WC game or come in relief).

    We talked about this a couple of weeks ago, but also Lou lifting Z after 80-something pitches in game 1 when he was cruising and saying he wanted to save Z to pitch on 3 days rest in game 4.

    that was great, as was Rondon randomly breaking out into a dance when interviewed, but I think that was after the NLDS win. Wish someone had video of that.

    then you'll probably be even more surprised that he went 2/4 with a R and RBI against us in the 07 playoffs For some reason, other than that ARI series, the one Cubs memory I have of Augie, is singling right before Sosa's game winning HR in extras in the 2nd game of the 5 game Cardinals series.

    what metrics has he been worse in? Besides FIP. all of them? k/9 - down bb/9 - up hr/9 - up babip - way down lob% - way up gb% - down hr/fb% - way up fip - up and that's all with the benefit of his amazing last 6 weeks or whatever I'm not saying he's not great, but he's been the beneficiary of a lot of luck and it's hilarious to see that he's had a worse season than last year, and he's a Cy Young candidate, while the prevailing nothing outside of cubs fans a year ago was that he disappointed. sometimes i wonder if ignorance is bliss. especially with me being a paranoid fan to a fault because instead of just enjoying lester pitching lights out, I now will spend 3 weeks worrying that things will normalize in October.
