That's a good question. If he pitches game 2 and is in god mode and Lester is shaky, they would both be available on enough rest for game 5 so you could choose which to throw. As awesome as Hendricks has been and still is, I don't think Joe considers him for a game 5 over Lester so you are riding with Jon, with Jake maybe someone who can come out of the pen if absolutely needed. Lets hope it doesn't get to that. -

As someone with lots of experience, I can tell you that the Cubs do send rejection emails if you don't win the lottery. They are cold and unsympathetic.

It's typically been 1-2 days after the registration closes if I recall correctly. Anyone want to team up, if they get selected you buy a seat for the other if they don't, and vice versa? I really really don't want to be shut out again this year I thought you were banned from any postseason games? I'll just wear a hat and a cheap fake moustache and the Cubs won't know it's me.

He means the bullpen has a keen sense of what to say or do to avoid giving offense; skill in dealing with difficult or delicate situations and a keen sense of what is appropriate, tasteful, or aesthetically pleasing; taste; discrimination. Yes, exactly. I can tell Strop was very critical of Steve Clevenger's tweets and his own views on BLM have been reasonable and appropriate. He is a necessary addition to the bullpen to keep them in tact

The AL wild card is really bunching up too. 6 teams (Jays, Orioles, Tigers, Astros, Mariners and Yankees) are within 2.5 games of a wild card spot and 3.5 games of both wild card spots. Please give me maximum chaos

wait what To be fair to the Diamonbacks they had to play the 90 win Rockies and 89 win Padres 19 times each. Meanwhile the Cubs played in the NL Central. I wouldnt say that the Cubs were "on paper" better than Arizona. It is debatable who was better on paper. The only team the Cubs were far and away better than "on paper" of the last 4 playoff losses was the 2008 Dodgers. The Diamondbacks played like a 79 win team based on pythag. Even if you count the relative tough teams they played, they performed like a sub .500 team. The 2007 Cubs, admittedly no world beaters, started the season terribly at 22-31. They then played at a 94 win pace for the last 109 games of the season (63-46) to win the division. You can't discount the 53 games they played earlier in the year but its clear they were a much better team in September than they were in April.

The 2007 Diamondbacks had a -20 run differential for the season. They finished 11 games better than their pythag. The 2007 Cubs had a +62 run differential and finished 2 games worse than their pythag.

Yes, this and the "Bears fans loathe Jay Cutler" narrative drive me nuts. I know there are meatballs out there that don't like Jay, but I would say 90% of Bears fans I know either like him or at worst are 'meh' on him. I'd say 90% is way high Do we hang out in the same circle or something? lol I'm certain a complete sample of Chicagoans wouldn't be 90%, but among people I know its roughly that high. In fact I can only really think of 1 person I know that is completely negative on Cutler (other than wanting to move on from him and get our QB of the future). My point was, everytime I read a national perspective on Jay, they always mention how Bears fans as a whole cannot stand him.

If I recall correctly, the hamstring/groin tear or whatever it was he suffered against Arizona (week 2 ironically) last year was supposed to keep him out 3-4 weeks, and returned after missing just one game. I doubt he plays Sunday night but after reading that, I fully expect him out there against Detroit next week. The "Jay isn't tough" narrative bothers me far more than "he sucks". At least the latter can be debated. The former should be so far out the window at this point. Dude is a tough SOB. Yes, this and the "Bears fans loathe Jay Cutler" narrative drive me nuts.
