There will likely never be a time I care less about a Bears loss. Checking... Bears don't play next Sunday. So yep. Just think, the next time the Bears take the field, the Cubs could be World Series champs having clinched at Wrigley Field.

I mean the 11-1 thing is very impressive and I think their RD was pretty high meaning they weren't just winning a lot of close games. It was a dominating performance that has no effect on validating or invalidating any other World Series runs before or after. And honestly, even if I did get into dick measuring contest about this, I'd much rather root for the team known as a historically great regular season team that survived the playoff crapshoot than the one that was very good but not great in the regular season (+96 RD, 91-71 pythag record) and got hot and dominated the playoffs.

Yeah I am 100% over 2003 and have been for a long while. I can read articles, rewatch the most painful moments and it has no effect on me.

That's tough to say. We've never had a weekend night game on a day the Cubs can clinch the pennant for the first time in 71 years. It's going to be a freaking zoo and based on the fact that its a Saturday people will be getting there early.

It's basically between the dugouts at the back of terrace reserved. You are going to have a huge overhang blocking the sky but depending on pole positioning you should have a solid view of the entire field. Get there early though and lock in a spot, I can't stress that enough. Also unless you are standing next to someone who is cool, be prepared to not leave the spot because people will quickly jump in and take it. If that happens, you still have access to anywhere in the park (besides the bleachers), if you don't mind being on the move, the last time I had SRO, I spent probably 3-4 innings just walking back and forth between the lower and upper concourse watching the game as I walked back and forth. Ok. Haven't bought anything yet. My plan was to go to a bar outside of Wrigley and check the online sites after the game had started in the hopes that prices would drop a bit. Not really counting on it but in case I do pull the trigger, I wanted to know where I'd be standing. I don't really mind walking around and I'm 6-8 so I don't have to worry about other people blocking my view. I was thinking the same thing. I really don't think prices will drop all that much before game time. I tried to go to opening night last year and it was a pretty high demand game, and the scalpers wouldnt budge even in the 3rd or 4th inning. I've had plenty of experience negotiating with scalpers, these dudes didnt even flinch when you started to walk away. For this game, if the Cubs take a lead early, you will have have a very hard time because people will scoop up tickets in the 5th or 6th inning just so that they can be in the part for a clinching. Definitely worth trying but I'm not sure how successful you will be. Good luck.

Oh yeah, that is a general theme from White Sox fans, that the NL is so weak and stupid that any decent AL team would have the best record in the NL beating up on bottom feeders.

Dude I don't know, maybe I'm just lame but I need a day off to savor the last 2 wins and prepare for tomorrow. My stomach has not allowed me to eat or digest food properly since the last off day. Need to recoup. Plus a Saturday game is much more enjoyable than Friday. I can get there early and soak up the scene before finding a bar to watch the game.

I just want to remind anyone that's worried that the Dodgers are 8-9 in the playoffs when Kershaw pitches, 4-9 before this year. I don't think anyone is necessarily thinking this, but just a reminder that Kershaw does not equal Cubs loss. We've got this.

I've stumbled across that stat a few times and am amazed each time. One year, I think 2003, he finished 2nd in the MVP balloting and didn't make it. I know he was a DH by that point but dude deserved better

Other than the game against the Giants he's been there when we really needed him IMO. Yes he gave up the single with the bases loaded but It was an ok result given the situation he came in to
