  1. It sure seemed like Bryant got the tag on Martinez as his hand hit Kris' shoe, but before it got to the bag. But again, nothing incontrovertible. no, he had at least 2 fingers on the bag. I thought that one was pretty clear I didn't think it was clear but I thought it was more likely than not that he was safe
  2. I appreciate that thought but Cleveland had 11 baserunners in the game. Maybe ding them for being unable to plate more runs but I think they overall hit well and chased a really good pitcher who I thought has a good game plan against them out before 5 innings. The Dodgers in game 2 did look rather bad at the plate overall.
  3. Oh for FFS. Stop with the self-absorbed whining. We all think this game blew, of course. But the series is only over after one of two teams wins four times. There's a lot of baseball left. I'm so sick and tired of the woe is me schtick. Don't like it, go be a White Sox fan. David is one of the more optimistic and rational posters on the board. He should be able to get away with a negative thought or two.
  4. Yeah I was with you. I expected like 4 IP 2 ER or something not to get shut out
  5. Ok one more pessimistic post and I promise I'll be better Cubs fall to 2-12 lifetime in World Series games at Wrigley Field Cubs have gone 9 straight World Series games without a home run
  6. This is Javy. He's gonna have stretches where he looks pretty good and probably longer stretches where he looks terrible. He did this all year. Just be thankful we got one of Javys best stretches ever in the playoffs.
  7. Am I bad in thinking Coghlan should have kept running there?
  8. Sweet the worst hitter on the Cubs taking the biggest AB of the season
  9. Didn't we sign Zobrist specifically to not strike out in those situations?
  10. Not a huge fan of a pinch runner here. Definitely not a fan of that PR being Coghlan
  11. horsefeathers you Draper and your horsefeathers eating Cardinals grin
  12. Why do I feel like this game is going to be decided on a Heyward AB?
  13. No one is. Solers triple is like the farthest hit ball by the Cubs today
  14. Concentration of elite pitching. This game isn't over I know. I'm saying dumb things out of frustration.
  15. Seriously. 5 shutouts in 162 games then 4 in 8 games. And even weirder, in the other 4 games they've crushed the ball. Wtf
  16. We only got shut out 5 times in 162 regular season games Please don't let us get shut out for the 4th time in 8 games.
  17. There was a double switch so a run would have had to score for Miller's spot to come up that inning. I think he was making a Dave Roberts joke?
  18. Am I the only one that still think of him as CJ Edwards?
  19. The only logic I can find is that Joe knows Maddon won't pull Miggy because if he eventually needs to PH Schwarver he's gonna have to burn 4 guys for 2 AB.
  20. Someone explain to me this sequence. Tomlin has reverse splits and is pretty much cruising. Tito knows that Maddon is saving Schwarber for when Miller is out of the game. But somehow the sight of lefty Miguel Montero is enough to get Miller in the game, when we know Maddon will most likely bring a righty up to PH or if he doesn't at least he has Schwarber looming with no Miller the rest of the game. I'm confused here Edit: oh yeah and he takes out one of his 3 best hitters
