  1. Hendricks, Lackey, Edwards and Monty? I dont recall Lackey winning one. Those other three and Wood would be my guess. Lackey would have won game 4 of the NLCS but was pulled after 4 1/3 after walking 2 straight guys in a 4-0 (I think) game that the Cubs won 10-2
  2. I thought I remember reading that he still lives in Chicago and bought his own tickets to attend one of the WS or NLCS games (cant remember which one) last October.
  3. Any way to play around with those things without paying? Signed, Cheapass
  4. I'm gonna try the presale to get either opening night or the ring ceremony day. im guessing everyone will go for opening night and it will be almost impossible, so maybe i should just focus on ring ceremony...still trying to decide. Any STH presales that you fine folks wouldn't mind allowing me to buy tickets through???????????
  5. Take it FWIW but Ed Werder reports that the Pats are not expected to trade Jimmy G this offseason http://football.realgm.com/wiretap/38207/Report-Patriots-Not-Expected-To-Trade-Jimmy-Garoppolo-This-Offseason
  6. That was impressive. Wondering if I should be worried about Lindsey though... Not really, we can't hit the broad side of a barn in the last 6 games and doubling happ is exposing our horsefeathers shooting. Plus our only shooter is hurt and struggling. Keep it going tonight
  7. lmao....Maddux pranks KB. KB can't hit his curve. [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]
  8. That Ibaka trade is insane. The Magic basically traded Oladipo, Ilysova and last years 11th pick of the draft for Terrance Ross and a late 1st round pick. I mean Oladipo is a bit of a bust (though still useful) but thats a lot of value to give up for what they ended up getting back. They pretty much lost the trade to get Ibaka and then lost the trade sending him to Toronto.
  9. [tweet] [/tweet] Oof....speculation is TJ
  10. I cant find the tweet with the photo but on the outside of Sloan Park they have banners up of the Cubs players, and there is one with Schwarber and it says "Catcher" for position. Edit: Found the tweet And those aren't old banners since the Bryant and Zobrist ones mention their MVP. Not saying it means anything just an interesting decision to call Schwarber a catcher on his banner
  11. http://www.csnchicago.com/sites/csnchicago/files/cubs_mural.jpg That is an awesome mural. Sometimes still can't believe all that stuff happened just a few months ago.
  12. It was really jarring to see a photo of Hendricks girly legs (no offense) and then Jake's manly legs in the next photo
  13. Ok I feel better about Northwestern now
  14. Jahill Oakfor just changed his twitter location to "Chicago" according to twitter.
  15. I just said that in my post
  16. This sucks of course but the argument against blowing it all up would be involve building around Jimmy and throwing together a 50 win team which would be fun and could win a playoff series or two. I still think this would be easier to attain than trading Jimmy, tanking and being flat out bad for years. In my eyes though, constant .500 ball in which they compete for the 8th seed is almost as unfun as flat out sucking. This team is so unfun that it has a 2010 Cubs. At least there was that 2 weeks to star the year where they were good but no one cared because of the Cubs. This. I never said anything about putting together a .500 team to eek out an 8 seed. This season has not been fun (that said, it's better than a 10 win team that completely obliterates any interest I have in even flipping on a game...but those aren't the only choices) Well you didn't want to blow up the team because of the risk of failing on lottery picks and sucking for awhile. Well this is the potential downside of attempting to build a competitive team and failing. Regardless I think there was a way that the Bulls could have kept butler and retooled for 1-2 years and we would have been in a better position to win a title they just decided to sign 2 players that were horrible fits for the roster and for Fred's system.
  17. I love this thread! Wonder when the first playoff highlight shows up. Something that's not a big moment but makes the list because it was awesome and it was in a playoff game. Like when Pence fell like an idiot diving for a Kris Bryant fly ball in game 2 of the NLDS.
  18. Is this really more fun than blowing it up?
  19. Not to turn this into politics but this is exactly what pisses me off about what Trump is doing and how well its working. His supporters will never turn on him because he's gotten them to distrust the media and listen to him as the sole voice of truth. He tweets that Obama did the same Muslim ban, which is completely untrue in multiple ways, but because he said it and he's the loudest one out there, his supporters believe him and continue to cite this as fact. He literally does this multiple times every single day and people believe him unequivocally. When other people point out how incorrect this is, they call them liberal snowflakes and say that they are pointing out fake news from the crooked MSM. So there's no arguing or reasoning with them. He questions the judicial system and suddenly the judicial system is biased and should not be trusted. The next person or entity that dares to challenge him will be the next to be discredited etc etc.
  20. wait what? that makes no sense.
  21. Did anyone else see that former Cubs pitching greats Jason Marquis and Ryan Dempster are going to be playing in WBC, representing Israel and Canada respectively? Edit: Eric Gagne, who hasnt pitched in the majors in 9 years is also on Team Canada
  22. Why change extra innings? Baseball has the best "overtime". They say position players pitching like it's a bad thing. I love all the potential quirks extra innings give us.
  23. Great, my relative disinterest in the Bulls next year is evidently safe
  24. I just mean their biggest weakness which seemed to be very glaring when the parade of lefties kept marching to the plate and looking helpless against Lester. lots of teams looked helpless against lester yeah, they were really bad hitting lefties and they should probably address it since it would seem an easy enough hole to fill (find some lefty mashing righties to platoon for their worst offenders) but either way, they are a very good team that has as good a chance as any at winning a WS next year. i agree they are a very good team. One finished 30th in the league in OPS against left handers..which is why I was curious if they did anything to address this in the offseason beyond swapping utley for forsythe. you are right though, they can certainly address in July if they need to as a righty platoon guy that hits lefties well shouldn't be too expensive.
  25. how fatal of a flaw is it for a team that won 91 games and got to within 2 wins of the world series? I just mean their biggest weakness which seemed to be very glaring when the parade of lefties kept marching to the plate and looking helpless against Lester.
