It's amazing that Bryant has spent almost the entire year hitting in front of Rizzo and Zobrist a majority of the season hitting immediately behind Rizzo yet combined they have less RBIs than Anthony. Then you see that Bryant and Zobrist combined to strike out looking 3 times with runners on base tonight and it starts to make sense. Sorry I'm feeling overly negative tonight.
I know I'm sick of the quirk of the wind. It blows in 70% of the games and when the wind is blowing the hardest the opponent always seems to be able to sneak one out while our guys spend the entire game taking uppercut swings and flying out.
So 3 of 5 innings have ended with a runner on 3rd. Two of the innings we've taken HR cuts into stiff wind and the third time the hitter was inexplicably trying to walk
Imagine how much he'll such when the balls aren't juiced. He won't hit anything past the mound. Well good it will save him from hitting into as many double plays
Thudbutt's been pretty rank for about a month now. I was going to respond with "really? But he's been keeping his average just above that .200 line" but then I realized that means he's basically hitting .200 Oh well can we all pretend Schwarber heroically played in the WS and afterwards hurt his knee again and his career ended and this is his evil twin brother Lyle Schwarber? Because I really like thinking of him as a mythical legend rather than a subpar ballplayer that got hot a few times
Is there a reason why Schwarber sits against righties now too? The last 2 times he's been out of the lineup, righties have started. Just defense reasons or have they lost faith in the bat again?
OMG this made my week. Still going strong with those awful takes https://twitter.com/deucebaseman/status/906235678043901958 https://twitter.com/deucebaseman/status/906237056237662209
I feel like the juiced ball craze somehow missed the Cubs. Other than Happ and maybe Contreras, everyone's power production is about where I would have expected it this season. Now show a bunch of stats that make me look very wrong.
Man I thought the Cardinals or Brewers would catch the Rockies for WC2 but I guess I forgot to figure in how many games Colorado has left against the Dodgers
As it stands right now it would be close. Arrieta, Lester, Hendricks, Quintana, Davis, Edwards, Strop, Montgomery, Duensing, Rondon. This leaves 1 spot for one of: Lackey, Wilson, Uehara, Grimm assuming they go with 14 position players.
