  1. I mean, I'm a cold-hearted automaton, and I'm pretty sure that's not right.
  2. I missed game 7 because of anniversary dinner, but I could tell that things were going well. Outdoor dining (my first restaurant experience since March), and a rooftop bar 3 blocks away was going absolutely bonkers. A nice distraction from the only other couple at the place we were at, who were making out like that couple on the bus from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Feeding themselves even. They were even older than us. Maybe it was a third marriage or something. Anyways, go Nugs.
  3. That the guys with the best results in the league do not often replicate their historic success afterwards should not be a surprise. You would do a little better to just look at average production over careers league-wide...which would have its own selection bias because only largely successful players have long careers...which is probably where the "elite pass rushers age well" myth came from in the first place.
  4. The Nuggets might be the one local team I'm considering adopting as my main.
  5. I'll say this about the Bears. Win or lose, the absolute sickest shiz happens at the end of their games.
  6. I would argue that Robinson is actually elite, but the rest seems about right.
  7. Great, now I'm going to have to check out this Howie thing.
  8. Not much time this morning, but it was nice to get a win. Lester is clearly declining. Nothing but feeble smoke and mirrors. But give us a good outing here, and all is forgiven.
  9. So possibly my 5th favorite TV show ever got cancelled this week. Sad stuff. We lost with the best pitcher alive yesterday. Someone needs to put out the fire. Queue Alzolay. I like the cut of the guy's gib, but... I only have so much juice left at this point in the evening. Too many fantasy drafts. I'll just take the moment to be petty. This is how Tom imagines his posts to read: When in reality...
  10. You two keep this childish garbage up and we'll just boot you both. It's getting old. I have no stake in this whatsoever, but Tom is rarely if ever the instigator here and catches way too much horsefeathers, IMO. If people don’t like him just ignore him. I’m surprised he doesn’t push back more, actually. I spent a good month and a half ignoring him, and then completely unprompted, I got a snarky "wrong account" jibe aimed at me. At that point, all bets were and are off. When he does something especially dumb, he now gets a gif. I only select the most ridiculous posts because I'd run out of gifs if I responded to them all. I really only target the incoherent babble or godzilla-related content.
  11. I wish I could impersonate that laugh.
  12. All of those tats would be totes sweat if they were for a different, particular team.
  13. [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo]
  14. Just read this blurb from Yahoo fantasy: ...that's not quite how I remember it. Playing fast with words like "among" and "top."
  15. ...it isn't?! No, not really. David Montgomery had 267 which if done for 3 years would be 801. He was 12th in the NFL. I know times have changed. The red flag number used to be like 375 or so just a decade ago. But 265ish is far from being worrisome. In the same tier you'll find Jacobs, Hyde, Mack, Kamara - I don't see anyone worrying about their workloads. 2015 would be the last season that would fall into the top 10 (9th) I think I hear people worrying about how Kamara will hold up about once a week. Someone that is ranking in what would be the top 15 in RB touches in the NFL, for three years running, is going to have a lot of wear on their tires. Now, just because things used to be even more ridiculous a decade ago doesn't mean that RBs are aging well. RB careers are getting shorter even as their number of touches on average has decreased. That's just because teams have wisened up and realize that young RBs just tend to be better because they have more thread left (there are contract consideration at play here as well). This is all relative, of course. Some RBs just aren't as banged up and injured. Some are talented enough that they are still better than the league average even as the dents accumulate. ...but I don't think Fournette is the second coming of Adrian Peterson. He's had a lot of north-south NFL carries. I'd also say that Fournette isn't a great fit for a zone blocking scheme, but he still might be the best available option for the Bears at the moment.
  16. I would be iffy about signing any RB who already has 3-4 seasons worth of mileage on his body. Fournette is at the low end of that range, but still, most RB's break down quickly 800 touches in 3 years is not a lot at all...it isn't?!
  17. Who is Tom Holland? https://lmgtfy.com/?q=Tom+Holland
  18. ...so do you think he's younger or older than Tom Holland?
  19. He's lucky to have escaped alive.
  20. The thigns that Mitchell and Murray are doing in the Jazz-Nuggets series are straight up bonkers.
  21. that is so funny how your phone autocorrects kimbrel to almora You say 5.98 xFIP, I say 49 wRC+, let's call the whole thing off.
  22. Hey, at least one of your wife's friends isn't in the hospital after a domestic issue, and her kid is having an emergency sleep over at your place. Bright side for me, Totoro was probably 1000% better viewing than the 7th inning.
