  1. Oh the US will be favored, as they should be, assuming this rough core is the same and healthy. But being able to add some of the other international guys I mentioned above to the Euros (sure I am forgetting a guy or three) certainly helps their team and I’d expect a more competitive event. The Euros by themselves aren’t that strong right now and have guys not fulfilling promises on the young side (Hatton, Fleetwood, Fitzpatrick, Pieters, Wallace, etc), Rory kinda stalling out the last few years and also have guys aging out (Poulter, Sergio, Casey, Westwood from this team and Rose and Stenson not even making it). 1 year is a long time from now too for the US, DJ isn’t that young anymore, Koepka and Cantlay have had injury issues and aren’t that young, Bryson may do some dumb Bryson stuff, Spieth is high variance, etc. I’d expect Burns and Zalatoris to be on the team next time, maybe Homa and maybe Wolff and Rickie if they figure things out, which it seems like they’re on the right track. But yeah, they certainly still have the best players and younger core with JT, Scheffler, Finau, Morikawa, Xander, Berger. DJ is old, fine. He just went 5-0 and is the #2 ranked player in the world.
  2. Refs clearly have a preferred team in SNF.
  3. The Lions have some of the most memorable losses in NFL history in that building. Respect.
  4. Sheboygan is contageous, it seems.
  5. I believe it was mentioned in another thread, but I can't remember which.
  6. I'd consider Gordon or Davis, as well. You have so much depth, that you would want to keep the high upside options. Eli has a chance to lead the 49er backfield in touches, which could be more valuable than any of your other RBs, barring injury.
  7. Can't you trade one of those RBs for a WR? And how many teams are there? I'm in a 14 team, and your team would be the stone nuts in it.
  8. Trey Sermon and Zach Moss being healthy inactives this week are both incredibly strange.
  9. I don't normally play Packers in my Draftkings stuff, but because of what you just mentioned, I am this week. And by that, I mean the man bun. It's flawless.
  10. It's as if he's been a productive but irratic player for his entire career!
  11. Well yeah, the Rams are good. Most teams aren't.
  12. I think most of you are too down on the offense. I think the Bears will wind up in the thick of things for the division title, in what is going to be a pretty weak division. Eleven wins gets it done, and the sooner Fields is the starter, the more likely the Bears can get to 10 wins. Preseason results are nearly meaningless, apart from evaluating individual rookies, and Fields looked pretty damn good to me.
  13. I was really looking forward to not watching this, and they just sweetened the pot.

  15. WHAT IN THE LIVING horsefeathers IS THAT?!?!?!?!?!
  16. I just loaded hadn't even cleared the spam adverts before the equalizer happened. Lame.
  17. It’s crazy that despite his unbelievably bad hitting he still has a positive fWAR this year, albeit just 0.1. He’s still a positive fielder and baserunner. I would consider keeping him if he accepted a very reduced role of 25th man, used only for late inning defense and pinch running. If we’re paying him either way why not use him in a way that gives us value? Also he’s a great clubhouse guy to have assuming he accepts the reduced role with professionalism. That said, I’m not sure Ross would use him in that way if he’s on the roster. I hate to infer this because his job should be to put his roster in the best position to win but I get the feeling he will do everything he can to make sure his buddy gets every opportunity in the world to play everyday. Maybe I’m wrong…he did eventually release Arrieta, though I think that release came several starts too late and Jake had to give us 3 IP, 6 ER games for a couple of months before the trigger was pulled. Also, I get that Ross doesn’t make roster decisions like that but I’m sure he had some influence, especially when the deadline happened and there was nothing to play for. Yeah, I think the Heyward decision is tough, so I'm not going to get too invested either way. He's likely not *this* bad of a hitter, and as long as he's not he's still probably in quality bench player range when you add his defense, baserunning, platoon splits, and soft factors like leadership. Like I don't think he's no longer worth being an MLBer, and we're paying him either way. That said I think I think Ortega and Deichman are better players. Probably modestly, but they're probably better. And unlike Heyward, if they're bad next year they are *very* easy to cut bait with. I don't think next year's going to be a total wash, but I do think there's going to be some roster churn, particularly in the first half, and having another roster spot where you can cycle guys through has real value. Was his vaccination status factored into this? I'm only half joking.
  18. I was on a boat on the Long Island Sound during this game, pretending to work, along with a few coworkers and the ships' crew, who were all largely strangers to us. We had a radio feed, and when they scored the goal, everyone lost their horsefeathers, and the crew brought out booze. The chief scientist was pumped enough to pretty much just shut down everything and let everyone party for the rest of the day. I don't even think anyone was really a big soccer fan.
  19. None of them are as important as launch angle and speed, but wind, spin, and altitude also play pretty big roles in total distance.
