  1. Line looks correct to me.
  2. It looks like you can watch the games that are shown in your local market(including playoff games), but only on phone/tablet. If you had TV access to those games already there's probably an app that lets you watch them on mobile, so my guess is that it's really only useful for true cordcutters who want mobile access but are only doing antenna for local channels instead of an OTT provider like Youtube TV or Sling. I took a cursory look at it. That was my impression too. I also understand that they have a higher tier, for more money, but it only gets you the ability to stream replays of the games. Seems like a waste of money to me. It's worth noting that people overseas can buy all the games live......so this whole crappy setup is due to the DirecTV contract, which hopefully goes away after this year. I get that DirecTV showered the NFL with money to keep that exclusive rights package but in the process the NFL lost a lot of ground in their nationwide offering to all fans. All the other major sports are way ahead and have been for years. Also there's the fact that the NFL app is about as user friendly as a fighter jet cockpit, but that's another story... Yeah, it seems like the only reason they released the app is to test things out before it goes fully operational when the DirecTV contract ends.
  3. Unamazingly, Jets announced WIlson misses the first 4 weeks of the season.
  4. There is a scandal brewing in the chess world. Seinfield Cup in St. Louis is happening, one of the bigger tournaments each year. Magnus won in the first round against Nepo, and then had white against a late-replacement in the tournament, Hans Niemann. He's a very odd character. He's known for being a bit of a bad boy (lots of confrontational interviews and streaming statements), but an up and coming strong player. He managed to beat Magnus with the black pieces. The game didn't look especially suspicious to me, largely because Magnus played pretty poorly, but Magnus thought otherwise, and resigned from the tournament saying that he'd get in trouble if he explained why. Some GMs stated that young players should be given a chance, and others (including Nepo) made some sly comments that Niemann's play was "more than impressive." Niemann also has a repuation for cheating, being banned from chess.com twice, and some GMs booting him out of their online money matches. Cut to yesterday, and all eyes were on Niemann versus Firouzia, who just beat the everliving piss out of everyone at the world blitz-rapid tournament, and is pretty clearly the best player in the world of the new generation. This game was definitely suspicious. Niemann played a move that was VERY much an engine move, offering a piece for a position that no commentators or GMs could see why it was good. There was no immediate forced mate. But the engines loved it, and there was an insane line 12 moves down the way that could force a win. Firouzia declined the sacrafice because he had no clue what was going on, and white had a much better game for a while. It wound up going to a draw, and Niemann told Firouzia about a line he considered which would have won nearly by force, and also no commentators saw coming, even in hindsight. The interview afterwards with Niemann explaining the game was doubly-suspicious. He claimed to have studied all of the lines involved the morning of, despite never playing in this particular opening variation before, and the 2600 that was going over the game with Niemann clearly had a much better understanding of the position (when they turned the engine evaluation off.) He couldn't even spell out the entire line that accepting the initial piece sac involved, blundering repeatedly in the post-mortem. I think it's pretty clear shenanigans are involved, but how he's cheating is going to be tough to prove. I think it might just take the players refusing to play at events he's invited to to put a stop to it. I don't normally like listening to Nakamura much because he's too awkward to listen to in large doses, but for evaluating if top-level players are cheating, it makes more sense to listen to him than anyone else chiming in.
  5. The Vikes had one of the boomerest offenses AND defenses in the NFL, in terms of scheme and coaching, in the NFL. Both of those things are changing. I don't think they'll outpreform the Packers, but I don't think it's insane to predict it.
  6. In a superflex league with 6 point TD passes, it wouldn't matter if Fields was actually the worst QB in the league (which he isn't). You still keep Fields.
  7. Now that the DH is universal, an idea I like is cut down the batting orders to 8 guys. Then you can DH for a position player if he’s a horsefeathers hitter but good fielder. Also it increases PA’s for the star players and should have more action then since you don’t have the horsefeathers backup catchers or whatever of the world taking 3-5 PAs a game. That's one the worst ideas I've ever read.
  8. Dang, I don't remember this at all.
  9. I don't know that anyone objects to his drug use. They're objecting to the fact that while some players are given lengthy suspensions for drug use, Rodgers can openly brag about it and receive no punishment This. A fair amount of the comments here were not "this." It's why I used the word "some."
  10. I don't know that anyone objects to his drug use. They're objecting to the fact that while some players are given lengthy suspensions for drug use, Rodgers can openly brag about it and receive no punishment I understand the hypocrisy, but I'll point out that the NFL is changing. They no longer test for weed in-season, for instance. That's probaby why Rodgers is talking about it now, as opposed to when he was initially taking the schooms. I'll also point out that when near-bulletproof NFL players openly talk about their (theraputic) drug use, it really does help bring about change. *I am not implying that weed does not have theraputic value. Quite the opposite.
  11. Some of the fake outrage at Rodgers' psychedelic use here is pathetic. There are all kinds of legit reasons to loath the guy. Stick to those instead of morphing yourself into some cranky boomer.
  12. There's a pretty vast difference between paying a hooker for a handy and assaulting women against their will. And is it pretty similar if the hooker was a human trafficing victim?
  13. Also, placing a couple parlays on games you’re not even playing in is apparently 3 times worse than sexually assaulting 30 women.
  14. About that rag-tag best-ball outfit I mentioned: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/underdog-raises-series-b-funding-with-485m-valuation-301593301.html That's ridiculous.
  15. Ohh, not park adjusted. Myrtle Beach is a pitcher-friendly ballpark. SB too right, or is that just early in the year when it's cold? I think only Iowa is especially hitter friendly, and even it's not crazy like Colorado Springs or some of the former Cal League parks Colorado Springs no longer has an affiliate. Sky Sox moved to San Antonio. Just an independant league team, the Rocky Mountain Vibes. The Rockies' AAA team is the Isotopes now, and they do play at 5100 ft, so I'm sure it's almost as hitter friendly.
  16. That the Cubs are now drafting from the conference I competed in does not bode well.
  17. That series was depressing af. Nearly forgotten about it until now. Thanks.
  18. There are some that argue that this dilutes the product, but I think that's pretty short-sighted and wrong.
  19. That's pretty amazing. I'd like to see those numbers equalized to overall BA. I'm sure they are still ridiculous.
