    Or he was just supporting a teammate? Of course he was supporting a teammate and it was an absolutely irrational support. There is supporting a teammate and just saying something stupid. If Lovie Smith is able to tell the truth ("We got to the point where we felt like we couldn't let them back in the game"), then Devin could. This is a really pointless thing to say. Makes your post all the more ridiculous.

    This season is beginning to look like the 2006 season. Very solid defenses. This time the Bears have Peppers but no Tommie Harris to speak of. Special teams has been great. The offensive line isn't as good as 2006, but Cutler is going to play better than Grossman. The Bears had two decent backs, although Taylor hasn't played up to his ability. Both teams won ugly and had the ability to put up a ton of offense in certain games. The NFC is wide open right now. The best team might be the Falcons and they won two games by the skin of their teeth.

    The more I think about it, it is Lovie's decision to keep Collins in or bench him. Lovie pretty much said so in his halftime interview with Zach Zaidman. I would have given Collins one more shot after halftime once changes could have been discussed, but after that he should have been gone. Lovie's rationale must have been that he didn't think the game was ever in doubt due to Carolina's terrible offense. You just can't throw the ball deep at all with Collins. Nothing over 20 yards. Martz has to know this. But I am still mad at Martz for last week. He kept on dropping Cutler back in the pocket even after he was getting killed. He learned his lesson in Dallas, but he didn't scrap the gameplan last week or this week.

    The O-Line still gave up three sacks and Collins only threw the ball a minimum number of times. Collins’ fourth interception came when he was trying to throw deep to Johnny Knox. Doesn’t Collins know he can’t throw deep? Doesn’t Mike Martz know it, too? Martz has to stop being so dogmatic about his 5 and 7 step drops. Calling that crap is ridiculous.

    The playoffs are a good prospect. I think teams that start 3-0 have a 75% chance of getting in. The chances have to be a little better one you go 4-1.
