  1. The Vikings would have a better record with Jackson so far this year. Not only did the Vikings pay Favre $20 million for nothing, but he can created a firestorm of controversy and will probably wind up getting his coach fired.
  2. I don't think they are going anywhere without Cliff Lee. And he is probably going to New York.
  3. Wow Luol scored 40. In one game. In his first few years Deng shot threes. Then the coaching staff realized he wasn't very good at it for the time being. But I give the guy credit for progressing in that area. If your PG can't shoot threes, your SF better be a three point threat.
  4. I forgot to read your last line. My bad.
  5. Is it just me or does Aubrey Huff look like he misses the bag at first every time and then reaches back with his foot to tag it?
  6. "Childress said Monday that he had allowed Moss to stay in Boston after the game for a few days but an NFL source said it was Moss who informed the team he would be staying out East." What? Moss was planning on skipping the day after a game where they watch video to stay out east? Who does that?
  7. Here I said it. If Noah and Rose keep those stats up the Bulls won't need Anthony. Disagree. He's averaging 29 shots a game after the first 2 games. The next closest person is Durant with 24. I'm not saying Rose hasn't done well but averaging 33 points on 29 shots is not very efficient at all. Think back to post Shaq pre Gasol Kobe when he was just throwing up shots by the boatload because no one else could, scoring 50-60-80 points in a game. And even he still topped out at 27 shots per game. You can't look at shots per game compared to points in a vacuum. Kobe didn't have a great shooting percentage during that time, but he took the ball to the bucket and was constantly fouled. When you are fouled you are going to have a lower shooting percentage. Is Rose getting to the line much?
  8. I didn't like the comments from Campbell before the game. He sounded timid, like he wasn't totally healthy and was being rushed back.
  9. Here I said it. If Noah and Rose keep those stats up the Bulls won't need Anthony.
  10. Last year the Bulls did because they really didn't have a good three point shooter. I'm hoping Korver will find his range soon.
  11. Give it to Noah and just clear out. :D
  12. I know the team is pretty young, but between the Olympics and winning the Stanley Cup they played a bunch of games last year. They might still be feeling the effects. It's very early folks. I am still confident that all this team has to do is just get int he playoffs and they can beat anyone.
  13. Tiger Woods, LeBron James, and Sandy Koufax. I win.
  14. If he is traded to the Bulls he won't have that problem anymore.
  15. What are the win shares if the Bulls had Horford/Anthony vs. if the Bulls had Noah/Deng based on last year? Horford and Gasol are restricted FAs next year and I don't know if Atlanta will be able to pay Horford now that they gave the big contract to Joe Johnson. Atlanta does not draw well. So you wouldn't have to give up anything for them. To win a championship after last summer's free agency, you have to take risks. I just don't see this Bulls team winning a ring.
  16. Ahh, the all-star argument. Always a sign of a person who has run out of quality arguments. And Carmelo Anthony is not a top 5 player. The original question was not about who is "gettable," but if there are even any players who can compete with the great Joakim Noah - available or not. And the fact is that almost every team has a guy who can do what Noah does. Maybe it takes a few years to get another center, but Noah is absolutely replaceable. If you don't get a bona fide star, you won't win a title. The Bulls won't get out of the second round of the playoffs for the next 5 years unless they make another big move. I am not hating on Noah. He is a good player, but the Bulls will never win a championship with the team as presently constituted because they don't have a 1A guy. Rose is close to that, but I don't think he will be in the Kobe, Pierce, Shaq, Howard, Wade, LeBron, Duncan, and Anthony league. Yeah the All Star argument. A guy who is a first or second all NBA is has a better WARP than Noah any day. It would be basketball stupid not to give up Noah for him. Horford, Nene, Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol, and Dalembert are all FAs in July and while not quite as good as Noah are plenty serviceable and make for a better team with Carmelo.
  17. Obviously the Bulls would have needed to pick up a decent center in the offseason. I wanted Carmelo early in the offseason when a few FAs were available. But there are still going to be people who don't want Noah traded even if the Bulls found a decent center and I just don't understand that.
  18. That's exactly why you trade for Carmelo. You can always find a guy pretty similar to Noah. Rose is great, but he isn't the guy on a championship team. Huh? Name 5 players that are over 6'11'' can give you 10/12 consistently every night, have a relentless motor and bring it every single night. I would think there are many more players who can score and create a shot than there are players of Noah's style of play. I looked at the TV and found a guy in 2 seconds. Chris Kaman. And Dwight Howard, Brook Lopez... It is not just creating shots with Carmelo. He demands double teams and is a 1A guy. Rose is a 1B guy. You rarely win championships with the Detroit style team that won that doesn't have a 1A guy. Carmelo is a type 5 player in the league and you trade a guy who has never even made an All-Star team for him!
  19. I hate on him only because he obviously has tons of talent, but doesn't do the little things to take his game to the next level. I hate potential to get wasted.
  20. I would give Rose more than one game to prove that he has a three point shot. I only watched the end of the game, but I saw Korver get open and drain a bucket. He just has to do so much running around to get to that point. It takes forever. He reminded me of Hinrich in that regard.
  21. That's exactly why you trade for Carmelo. You can always find a guy pretty similar to Noah. Rose is great, but he isn't the guy on a championship team.
  22. Yeah that was classic Luol. The momentum really turned on the plays where Korver passed up a corner 3 and let the shot clock expire and Deng couldn't finish on that break. Wasn't that after an in bounds play? How do you not know how much time is left on the clock?
  23. Wow Griffin can play. He's a pogo stick with power. Can he shoot?
  24. Deng has been soft and will always be soft. Why can't he even try to be physical? One of the nails in the Bulls' coffin was the breakaway he had and decided to try a layup instead of going strong and dunking. If you go for the dunk they almost have to foul you, but Dent went for the layup and got it blocked.
  25. I have never seen a commercial blitz like the one for Derek Rose's new shoe.
