If Melo goes somewhere else and the Love trade doesn't work out, I wouldn't mind gutting the entire team starting with Noah and Taj and keeping only Rose.
-
Bulls will back into signing LeBron after Melo stays with NY. Melo will have this great look of surprise when he realizes he will never get out of the second round of the playoffs now.
-
Amnesty Boozer, trade Taj and Dunleavy How much money is Pau getting in that scenario? Have fun stopping teams with Carmelo and Pau on the floor. I really don't see Pau as any better than Taj right now. Plus Melo would be mad. He's hoping Taj stops his man after he blows by him on the way to the rim.

How do they afford Gasol?
-
two second round picks, not #1's Ok. A little less stupid then.
-
What is Milwaukee doing? Lose two #1's for Kidd? Horrible second move for new ownership after getting Parker. Great move for Brooklyn.
-
The Score going with the 'Rose performed for Melo' story. I'd trust KJ over the other report.
-
I have full confidence that GarPax will get the deal done before Melo finishes dessert. Melo is just trying to get Thibs to promise not to play him 40 minutes a game.
-
Rose finally acting like Galant and not Goofus
-
Money aside, would you trade Rose straight up for John Wall?
-
Kobe has made statements in the past similar to Derricks. He has, I think, specifically said he will not recruit melo but would give advice if asked. Something like that. Not according to Broussard. Kobe is recruiting Melo. Talking to him, meeting with him. http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=11135474&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Fm.washingtonpost.com%2Fblogs%2Fearly-lead%2Fwp%2F2014%2F06%2F26%2Fkobe-bryant-is-recruiting-carmelo-anthony-but-lakers-are-a-longshot%2F%22%7D

Isn't Kobe recruiting LeBron or Melo right now?
-
Agreed. Rose, through Reggie, complained to the press over the winter for the Bulls to improve the roster even though they had the best record in the NBA or close to it the two last healthy years Rose had. Whether or not recruiting should be necessary isn't the point. It works. Stars want to be wanted. And the Bulls will be the old Bulls without Melo or Love. And Rose will be partially to blame. Reggie is bad for Derrick. Gotta get better people close to him.

You have to give Melo a deadline don't you?
-
I like this move. Maybe having a decent backup SF will help woo Melo or LeBron because someone else can play that position and score and give the starting SF some rest. So he can create his own shot, spot up a three, and play decent defense? Can he play SG too?
-
No room for Afflalo cause the Bulls are getting Love and Melo!
-
Is it true the US game could get postponed because the pitch is swamped?

Dreaded vote of confidence

Should bring both teams together and have a shootout. Do they still have shootouts even in the championship game?
-
Yes it is. Melo has clear defensive deficiencies, never been close to a ring, and would be coming to a team that has had tons of success due to defensive prowess. LBJ is undisputed the best in the game. It's like Jordan vs. Iverson. But getting Melo or LeBron is not adding pieces. This isn't getting Grant or Rodman. You are adding superstars. But that's what the league is. You add superstars. And the Bulls, at least, have a team that is very close. It's not like the Knicks who tried to buy a ring with Melo and Amare 4 years ago. It's not even like the Heat, who had 2 straight 1st round exits (after a league worst 2008 season) and weren't really all that close 4 years ago before adding 2 superstars. That's why I don't care about building a team the "right way." The Bulls have drafted well and Thibs has developed players and made castoffs good money. But I'm tired of the old try hard Bulls. Get THE piece already.

So picky
-
Why would Mirotic want to come over if Love is here? He will never start on the Bulls.

Not any more respectful adding Melo than it would be with LeBron. You can have respect or go home in May every year.
-
It is unreasonable to not want the best player in the game and maybe one day the best ever on your team. Living in Atlanta I've found out they really want choir boys here. They want good clubhouse guys above talent. And that's why they always underachieve.
