if he knew he was breaking down, why would he hurry to come back and play for a coach who was running players into the ground? Pax almost killed Vinny when he gave too many minutes to Noah coming off his injury. Thibs would have tried to overuse Derrick, but Pax and Reinsdorf would have shut that down.

http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/ceob.gif Rose is a goober, but calling a dude out for realizing he is basically now useless as a basketball player because injuries destroyed what made him valuable in the first place as being "soft" is super meatball-y. As opposed to, what, he hangs around milking name-recognition contracts for a few more years? That's somehow a better choice that would make him seem less "soft?" He’s quit on his team three times now. He’s on a one-year, vet minimum deal so he’s not milking anyone. He’s two weeks away from being back. Try to win a title this year and then retire.

How’s that lifetime contract working out for ya, Adidas? Rose quit on the Bulls after his ACL injury, went AWOL on the Knicks last year, and might retire this year. His injuries have been incredibly sad and unlucky, but he’s still soft mentally.

Bears sorta tossing around the idea of bringing Kevin White back off of IR. So he's healthy enough in the next few weeks to come off because I haven't heard any updates on him? Fox isn't trying to develop Trubisky as his #1 priority. He's trying to save his job by winning and Trubisky's development will take a back seat. With that said, the receiving core stinks and when you are up by two touchdowns, I don't disagree with Fox's gameplan after that one bit.

I don’t have any stats to back this up, but outside of Davis (who has always had great secondary stuff), had Bosio developed any great secondary pitches with the pen? Montgomery might be the exception, but everyone else’s secondary pitches just seem to be average. And when you don’t trust them, you nibble with the fastball as they did in the playoffs. I had a feeling that Bosio would be gone due to pitching regression and the comments he got suspended for, but the pen pitched what, 120+ more innings this year compared to their workload last year. That will wear you down. It was Joe’s call, but is that normal for the manager to have the power to pick all the coaches?

I'm not watching either again to make that determination, but this one has more force coming down because he got taken out on an alley oop. The Louisville broken leg went through the skin, but tonight Hayward's ankle was just literally hanging off to the side. Both were just horrible. Who took Hayward out accidentally?

Carried out on a stretcher. Terrible. I hope to never see the photos or video It was really bad. I thought he just landed on his back after getting upended on an alley oop and I was worried about his tailbone. Hayward just sat there for a second until the camera zoomed in and Kevin Harlan noticed it and started going crazy. I saw one closeup of it and just changed the channel immediately. David Chao on Twitter said that it's not a career ender and there's a chance he could be back for the playoffs. Really?

I would have PH Schwarber in the first for Heyward. Clueless at the plate yet Joe trots him out there again and again.

Did we ever find out who said no to a 1pm start yesterday? I saw TBS said it wasn't them but didn't see anything else. Torre made it seem like it was MLB's call, but they had to consider TBS and TBS did't want a 1 PM start.

He owns Daniel Murphy, for what that's worth. Problem is Joe will never let Wilson face Murphy in a key situation

Theo put him on it to try to salvage his trade because he had good numbers against Murphy while his hottest reliever in Rondon was left off and could have been used in the two critical 8th innings this series

KB had one swing today and it was the huge uppercut swing. But Strasburg pitched him really tough with some nasty changes in counts that are typically fastball counts.

Theo and Joe gotta get on the same page. Rondon was in good form headed into October and Theo put Wilson on the roster instead of Rondon. But Joe won't use Wilson and he could have used Rondon in the two games they lost. Better put Rondon on the roster if the Cubs make the NLCS.
