    BJax/Upton/DeJesus would be a pretty fantastic defensive OF. Three guys who would be in CF for a whole bunch of teams would be pretty sweet to havw in one OF. Hamels/Garza/Dempster/Shark/Bodies doing the pitching would be nice to go with it.

    He does like to leave his residence a little much for my taste. And when he does, he engages in activities. It's very disturbing. Clearly this is a man who just doesn't think of the children.

    Ah. Like Zimmer, I like Correa but don't find myself being particularly interested in drafting him. Everything I read about Almora has me extremely high on this player. Might be my favorite player for the Cubs to draft after Gausman if I got to make the pick.

    You say that like its a bad thing. IMO if Correa had Machado upside we'd know about it already.

    Yikes But not that surprising, outside of Richie Shaffer and Zunino, there are very few impact college bats. Stanford 3B guy?

    Did you miss Zimmer intentionally, because I'd certainly think he's higher on the Cubs wish list than Wacha. He's supposed to be after Correa.

    They should consider selling Dominic Brown...to the Cubs...for stuff.

    Doesn't really matter if he hits well enough. That's a big if, though. It does if they want to improve defensively. Even then to ask a guy who's basically 30 and not very athletic to do that you're increasing his chances of getting hurt. Nothing about this says good idea.

    LaHair in LF would be vomit inducing. He's a 1B/DH as a major leaguer. How do you look at that body type and his movement skills and think "OFer?" It would not end well. Hell, it probably wouldn't start well. It's begging for trouble If its such a big deal experiment this year while the team is expected to suck. If for no other reason than letting everyone learn that this just will not go well.

    I'm thinking Buxton Gausman Appel Healthy Giolito Zunino Almora Correa Stroman Wacha Fried Cecchini was a good name to throw out by ihe. He and Almora are somewhat similar to me as talents/athletes but one plays in the infield while one is a CF.

    Aren't sports fans just hate able? I ask this as a sports fan... I don't get our purpose besides paying the bills and getting highly involved emotionally.

    I would expect his K rate to go down moving to an AL team. I don't think that's a ridiculous guess/prediction.

    It would, so take solace that Vitters recognizes and makes contacts with breaking pitches like Francouer never could. I've never seen a worse hitter against a good breaking ball than that guy. Sheets' curve used to eat him for lunch and he'd just keep swinging and swinging.

    Gotta disagree there too...fully expect the best pitcher from this draft will come from Gausman, Appel, and I'll throw in Giolito.

    This. He'd still be an absolute coup at 6. Correa is a good prospect but do have to consider that middle infield upside is actually the closest thing to a strength in the system. Plus I'm not sure he's a Machado level talent, as MM was a consensus top 3 pretty much the whole time.

    Over the last 10 years, there's been 2 or 3 teams with a better #3 than Ryan Dempster. Sure, I could see that I'm understating his talent some. Are both of them from this season (Hamels and Bumgarner)?

    Well duh. He's still a starting catcher who's been a good bat throughout his career.

    is this a serious question? of course teams value a player based on what he has done i imagine the Red Sox looking into a magical snowglobe and seeing all that John Lackey was going to do for them and saying "yup, that is worth $82.5 million to us" Yeah I already said its not a good post. Our best hopes will be that Toronto, Colorado, Boston, or the Tigers offer up something nice then. I could realistically see the Tigers mayber making a decent offer if they have one, and maybe Boston who is anything but solid in the rotation right now despite having talent there.
