Oh come on. It's one game at Coors where only a couple of balls were hit hard, one of which should have been caught to save three runs with a real left fielder.
Had to be a desperation move to get more time to help accommodate the facility inadequacies they faced on opening night. I'm sure they've all played in colder weather, this really is a joke of a postponement. Yeah, it has that feeling. They had the off day yesterday, so you'd think they'd be more prepared, but cancelling six hours before the scheduled first pitch due to a forecast of 40 degrees and a slight chance of rain seems sketchy. I also haven't seen the 'sub-freezing wind chills' forecasted anywhere.
I really don't want to trade Starlin anyway, but the Padres are a bad match. Ross was my first thought, but he's not under enough team control compared to Castro; plus, the amount of sliders he throws worries me. Cashner gets hurt too much. Hedges can't hit, and Renfroe's numbers are being propped up by the California League.
Ross did throw the first runner out and if not for the wind, may have homered his first AB. I'm far from his biggest fan, but let's not go too far with the Ross hate.
