  1. I wonder what the record is for walks by a rookie.
  2. When Strop is around the zone, it's not really fair to the hitter.
  3. exactly. The chances of Ross getting another hit is pretty low and until proven otherwise, the chances of Lester getting a hit is exactly zero. Your best chance there is to get to third base and make it in when Ross makes an out. I don't think Braun makes that throw that many times out of ten tries. I don't disagree with the thought. However, it doesn't just impact that inning. There was an opportunity to clear Lester and start with our double lead off guys the next inning. I have to imagine that hurts the chances of also scoring in the 7th, although maybe not. I bet Strop pitches the 8th anyway. Lester's pitched well, but not really missing bats these last few innings. OK, so I was way off.
  4. I don't hate that with 1 out and Ross & Lester coming up. I also didn't think Braun had that type of arm.
  5. Soler's had enough 110 mph lineouts to deserve that.
  6. Oh hells yes. Please continue this so you don't have to go back down.
  7. I didn't like that send of Rizzo. Not with a flyball/strikeout hitter up.
  8. Make that 4/5 with a double for Gleyber
  9. If Tucker's gone, I think my next choice would be Ian Happ out of the realistic options. His Cape stats are really impressive. Law has Happ ranked pretty highly, I want to say 6th or so.
  10. Torres is 2/3 so far. OPS up to .823. He's pretty darn impressive.
  11. I think Rizzo will have a hard time beating out Votto since it's in Cincinnati and Gonzalez has been a monster so far. However I think Bryant and Castro have a shot to start with a re-energized Cubs fanbase.
  12. That's not a homer anyway, but Wrigley in April is so lame.
  13. do you guys really think those pitches to marte were anything but intentional? the guy somehow took his once in blue moon walk and didn't chase one pitch after 0-2. tip your cap. if hendricks has that little confidence in his stuff he is not going to have a very long career. He's had success so far. It's not about not having confidence, it's about realizing you throw 88 and can't throw it down the heart of the plate. Marte just randomly decided to take pitches unlike he has all season.
  14. He has to nibble. If he challenges down the middle, we're down by more than one.
  15. Wow, thanks CB. That was dang near a full swing.
  16. With the way both teams are playing, it could be 60-70% Cubs fans in Miller Park.
  17. Good win, especially since Cole goes tomorrow.
  18. Just as I thought they were applying replay correctly, they go and don't change an incorrect call.
  19. Talk about a drastic difference between Jordy Mercer throwing the ball across the diamond vs Bryant. Kris' arm strength is kind of absurd.
  20. The Cubs are the best team in this division right now.
  21. There's really no reason to miss that call live, but OK.
  22. Seeing all of these low strikes lately is especially annoying thinking back to that Padres game we should've won.
