He really needs a home run because he's pressing now. When's the last time he actually just hit the ball hard? I honestly can't remember. He hit a double and single pretty hard two days ago.
No, it really isn't. With two outs, the smart play is almost always to send the guy. That one was bad. With Lind running and not even at 3rd when Coghlan had the ball. Coghlan has some issues in the field, but he's got a fine arm.
I like that Joe is sticking up for his team, but I think this was more about having a young, inexperienced umpire back there than anything else. Lynn had some close pitches called balls early in the game where he reacted and the ump motioned to their dugout a few times saying where those pitches were. I think the Cardinals frustration led to some (horrible) makeup calls on Bryant and Soler.
at least they're not the blues The blues are 1,000 times better than the grays and for Gilby, they've worn the grays like twice all season. The CUBS grays are so awesome. Those need to be worn more.
Meh. Bryant will start hitting balls over the fence and won't depend on BABIP as much, and Russell will continue to put more balls in play as he gets more comfortable.
