    Russell had a tough June and now has a .670 OPS overall. They're not putting him there because he sucks, but he shouldn't necessarily be hitting higher, either.

    Arrieta hit 98 mph that inning. His fastball velo is up this season; hopefully it lasts.

    I'll say something positive about replay: I bet pre-replay, when umps were used to just calling runners out if the ball beats them, Rizzo would've been called out there. Now they know such a thing could be overturned.

    I so wish Bryant hits one out of Citi Field tomorrow so these announcers can stop with the upper-cut swing jokes.

    Giants lost on a walk-off 3-run homer (by Justin Bour!) up by 2 runs. So that's neat.

    Keith Hernandez is miserable to listen to. Every out gets a groan and a condescending remark to the hitter (both teams)

    On the bright side, it's the 9th inning and Starlin is on deck.

    They can both stand on the bag as long as they'd like. It's only an out when one is tagged while both are on the base. Murphy was never tagged while Tejada was on the bag. By the time he was tagged he was technically the only baserunner since Tejada is automatically out when (reverse) passing Murphy Yeah, you're right. The Mets' broadcast got me excited because they thought they were both out. Tejeda was the passer and Murphy stayed on the base. Correct call.

    Yeah, I blame Castro and Rizzo equally there. Needs to be a better throw, but that's an easy pick. Keith Hernandez LOVES that he gets to bring out the "loose, lazy" narratives for Starlin.

    For all the talk that the Cubs need to find pitching, it's kind of funny that every year Theo's been here, the offense has been miserable while the starting pitching has always been good (pre-deadline).
