  1. Lester's mouth and torso/arms were doing very different things.
  2. I wish we had ignored the scouting reports/spray charts against Wong, like the Cards did against Castro.
  3. Also, why the [expletive] was Wong playing there? Starlin hasn't hit a ball there since August 2014.
  4. seriously what the [expletive] He is slow, but that was hit really hard.
  5. [expletive]. Great swing, great approach
  6. I'd still rather have Starlin up than most non Rizzo/Bryant hitters with his contact ability.
  7. Think opposite field. Think opposite field. Think opposite field.
  8. As hilarious as the bullpen pitchers are for not moving when a ball is coming at them, someone is going to wear one in the mouth.
  9. Maybe we do actually need Javy's offense. That's a scary thought, depending on Baez at the Major League level.
  10. Good call by Maddon. I don't trust Lester's bunting.
  11. Get a quick dong here and a 1-2-3 5th inning.
  12. I was going to compare Molina to Cervelli on that pitch, trying to frame a ball not even close to the zone, but by golly, he got the call.
  13. Why did that have to hit Lackey's ankle
  14. I thought he Harper'd that. He was upset when he made contact, yet Grichuk kept drifting back.
  15. Did Montero's hand not make contact with Peralta?
  16. I feel like we've played the Cardinals 46 times already this season.
  17. ooo, Frazier edging out Carpenter as the starter gives Bryant a real shot at making the team, since Frazier and Arenado were locks to make it. Hopefully he at least is a finalist for the final vote thing.
  18. I think Motte is our closer now. If Maddon were still all about matchups in the 9th, Motte wouldn't be pitching. didn't grimm just close out a game where motte came in with the game tied? That was in extras. Right. But Motte came in to a tied game. I think that was just Maddon not being a typical idiot manager, and he used his best pitcher available (in his mind) in a tie game and didn't wait for a lead. With the way he's handled things lately, it looks like it's Rondon in the 7th, Strop 8th, and Motte 9th.

  20. What a brutal strike zone. Ump had a terrible day behind the plate.

  22. That was a ridiculously impressive walk by Bryant to not swing at those sliders when you're gearing up for 100 mph.
  23. Rondon has been dominant vs lefties this year. I'd let him close against Yelich and Bour.
  24. I don't know but when just almost every hitter is underperforming expectations or career norms you have to wonder if something is wrong with their instruction. Fowler had Mallee last year as a coach though and had a really good season. Soler's inability to lay off sliders is more his own fault. I'm not sure what's up with Castro however and why he can't hit anything hard; last August before he got hurt he was squaring everything up.
