  1. He'd probably go at least 1 for 25.
  2. He's not getting nearly enough. He put this crap show together. And the media is focused on Bradley's personality. When you have a bunch of 30+ year olds with injury histories you can't blame a season on flukey injuries. They've had 2 guys underperform reasonable expectations. You have to assume some guys are going to struggle. What you can't do is pay superstar money to non-superstars and expect to cruise. He's spent a ton of money on this team and it's been a big waste. Fontenot, Miles, Gregg, Marmol, Soriano, Soto, Bradley, and that's without touching injuries. Who forsaw Fontenot, Marmol, Soriano, and Soto struggling so much this season? Letting go of DeRosa and adding Miles is the only mistake you can blame Hendry for, but it's a huge one. You can blame him for Dempster and Soriano's contracts hamstringing the team.
  3. This goes back to people's misconceptions about bunting when they freak the [expletive] out over a guy not getting one down. Bunting against a major league pitcher is really really difficult.
  4. He walked on the 22nd. He's 1 for 25 with a .231 OPS since coming off the DL. Bwahahaha. Seriously couldn't anyone of the posters on here do that? Seriously. Any person here could go 1 for 25. Just bunt everytime and try to beat out the throw or swing at every pitch you see. Considering how many pitches you would see over the course of 25 at-bats, you're bound to make contact on one of them and hit it through a hole somwhere. Heck, I'd rather have Billy Crystal on this team right now than Aaron Miles. Aaron Miles is a horrendous ballplayer, but you're way off thinking every person here could go 1 for 25. Especially if all they did was (try to) bunt.
  5. I know he is making all this $, but he is awful. Sit his ass please! The alternative today was Sam Fuld.
  6. I suppose. I think it's more in-depth than strictly a numbers thing. Generally speaking when both are hitting how I expect them to I think Theriot works a better count, is more versatile in terms of hitting the balls the other way/bunts, draws more walks and yes he does have a higher average. Soriano's power potential obviously makes up for his deficiencies in areas that Theriot is better. But as far a better hitter, with how I view the term, it's Theriot for me Theriot sees less pitches per plate appearance. And Soriano has drawn more walks.
  7. And how does Jake Fox make a throwing error on a single to right center?
  8. I'll say a 25-6 finish does it. That's a lot more depressing than looking game by game.
  9. Friend of mine got 2 free bleachers the other day as he walked down Irving. If anybody wants to go to a game this month, just walk around in Wrigleyville until you pay half price at most.
  10. Bradley had an OPS of about 660 in his first ~800 PAs.
  11. 4 with the Giants. The Braves and Marlins are certainly catchable. The Giants probably are too. In order to catch the Rockies and Giants, the Cubs need the Dodgers to beat the crap out of the Giants while the Giants beat the crap out of the Rockies, and some other team with nothing to play for does as well. Throughout all this the Cubs need to play their(by far) best baseball of the season.
  12. If the Dodgers are a "wild card team" then the Cubs are comically out of the race.
  13. I can only imagine the posters loving a move like this from Hendry. Trading Thome for next to nothing when he's going to be a type A free agent. Brilliant move by Williams. =D> Thome in the NL, most likely will not be a Type A. Hell in the NL there is a good chance Thome isnt ranked as a Type B either. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ Yes, but 4 days ago, WIlliams had a type A free agent as an asset. Now he doesn't. What he is now is not relavent at all. It's not an asset if you have no chance of converting that status into draft picks.
  14. Just goes to show how crappy the NL is or at least how much easier it is to pitch in the NL. Hell, I'm expecting Jose Contreras to throw a 1-hitter soon. If Zambrano went to the AL, he'd be brutal. Chad Gaudin has a 3.21 ERA with the Yankees.
  15. Did the Cardinals credibility hit bottom when they signed Ryan Frankroid?
  16. I doubt that. He's been consistently better throughout his career, has a better approach that would be much less prone to sudden decline, he'd be a year younger when signing it and it would last a year less. 7/135 in this offseason is not equal to 7/135 in the '06-'07 offseason. I don't understand how Soriano's contract being a year longer is a hindrance. You don't think Soriano is going to be worth 1M in the 8th year of his deal? *(This all hinges on Soriano sucking this year due to injury, not due to sucking)
  17. Ironically, he was actually a lot closer to stealing it than Aramis or Soto would have been Aramis is definitely faster than Lilly.
  18. 7/135 for Holliday would be worse than Soriano's contract.
  19. Castro hasn't exactly had a great time with the defense, committing 50 errors in 157 games at SS Error totals at the low minors are pretty unreliable as far as projections go.
  20. Milton Bradley hustles more than anyone else on the team.
  21. No, I think it'd be a great idea to get rid of idiot fans because they pissed off Bradley.
  22. He could do both. Run Milton out of town and make a big splash by signing Matt Holliday. That would be a terrible splash. Agreed, but you know the general idiots would eat it up. Getting rid of the clubhouse cancer and bringing in the Cardinals stud who knows how to play the game.
  23. He could do both. Run Milton out of town and make a big splash by signing Matt Holliday.
