Anyone else. Samardzija is right now the worst pitcher in the pen. Agreed. But obviously the Cubs aren't ready to accept their $10 million as a sunk cost just yet. If you spent $10 million on an unproven relief pitcher (lets not argue the merit of drafting/signing him in the first place), wouldn't you give him way more chances to prove himself than lets say Justin Berg? I didn't say he should be released. He can prove himself in AAA.

How is it possible for every team in the league to play a majority of their games against the other conference against playoff teams? Maybe it is possible but I can't think of how, especially when schedules are made before the season starts and thus you don't know who will make playoffs and who won't. Because you play an equal # of games against each team in the opposing conference. And there are 15 teams per conference. And 8 make the playoffs.

I'm surprised there haven't been any rumblings about Siakam. I thought the interest was mutual. The 2011 class is loaded though, and we're supposedly looking decent with a couple Indiana kids in 2012, so maybe they see it best to roll it over. It is weird to not hear anything though, after Weber's public comments about getting tougher inside, which is pretty much all Siakam gives you.

Klee's been hinting at it for the better part of 2 months. There are 2 open spots for next year but there's not much out there (that we have a chance at) that are really worth stealing a scholarship out of the '11 or '12 class.

I'm not going to say I don't like the NBA playoffs, but I doubt I'll be watching any 1st round games besides the Bulls, Celtics, and Jazz. Maybe if there's a game 7 in the West.

I can only assume you're also not a fan of college basketball. Umm March Madness lasts 1 month and no where near half the teams make the tournament. It still takes a long-ass time and there's still an absurd amount of teams competing. I have no idea why one would expect that the time span for playoffs must occur within a certain amount of time. Why is one month OK, but over one month is not? The issue is you have a bunch of mediocre teams competing for long-ass periods of time. It doesn't bother you much when Mississippi Valey State is in the NCAAs, because they're gone in a day. I'm going to be stuck watching the Bulls for a full week.
