  1. So the Bulls are trying to recreate Utah with a worse point guard? That'll end well. I wouldn't call Rose a "worse point guard" then Deron Williams. Alright, close it up, nobody's topping that one.
  2. So the Bulls are trying to recreate Utah with a worse point guard? That'll end well. The Jazz have no centers on the level of Noah. Kyle Korver isn't a starting SG though, so they'd best go after Brewer to complement him if they insist on nothing but Jazz.
  3. I'm thinking about adopting the Bulls as my team. It's either the Bulls or the Thunder. The Thunder are incredibly easy to like on almost every level. The fact that they don't have any history in their current city makes it easy for a bandwagon jumper also. I'm stuck with the Pistons in the regular season but like to watch the Thunder if they're on national tv and of course they're my go-to in the playoffs. Like the Baltimore Ravens? Less murdery
  4. I e-mailed that to Bill Simmons earlier. I'm guessing 400 other people did too. It's been referenced like 15 times in this thread alone. It's still perfect though. Pat Riley is a perfect Eric Bischoff too.
  5. NBA TV should give Dan Gilbert his own reality show, just to capture his response to things like this.
  6. I can't wait to have everyone on here rooting alongside me before the Heat poo all over the Celtics in the 2nd round.
  7. And all the books are about Vitamin Water
  8. The Decision: Josh Boone
  9. I don't think playing in Schaumburg helps the Cubs make up 9 games in the standings.
  10. I really want a Heat-Cavs 1st round match-up. Cleveland would probably get destroyed, but damn, just 1 win for the Cavs in Cleveland would be epic. Anyone think the letter from the owner is going to hurt their potential to sign a star in the future?
  11. I doubt you'd be saying "it is what it is" if the Bulls lost Michael Jordan in the summer of 1990. Well, he is right, though. I'm not saying that I don't understand the hurt and disappointment in Cleveland. I do. I'd probably be upset if the best player my franchise has ever had left in his prime before ever bringing a championship. However, it's the nature of sports. Jerry Seinfeld was right: Players move so much that you're essentially not rooting for teams, you're rooting for laundry. He left a ton of money on the table to go to Miami, so this isn't about greed. It's about the desire to win, to reach the very pinnacle of your chosen profession. If I were a Cavs fan I certainly would not be happy at all, but I wouldn't be one of the idiots burning his jersey in the streets. Aren't you the guy who gets apoplectic when the Cubs go behind in a game? Changing the subject because your argument was shot down? And what does that have to do with LeBron? It was in response to you saying you wouldn't be an idiot burning his jersey in the streets. You'd be burning the guys house down.
  12. I don't even know what this is supposed to mean. Four series lost in a decade is supposed to have underlying factors involved? The Yankees lost more playoff series than the Cubs. Minnesota, the ultimate in supposed home field advantage, was 1-5 in playoff series this past decade. The Cubs are 1-12 in these supposed coinflips. I'm asking if there is any theoretical point when there might be some explanation considered other than randomness? 1-20? 1-50? 1-100? So the Cubs lost in the early 1900s playoffs because their facilities weren't good enough??
  13. As much as we'd all like to hope the Heat fail, I don't see it happening. This is how I see the East shaking out: 1. Heat - 64 wins 2. Magic - 58 wins 3. Bulls - 55 wins 4. Hawks - 52 wins 5. Bucks - 48 wins 6. Bobcats - 44 wins 7. Nets - 40 wins 8. Cavs - 38 wins Blatant attempt to get me to respond? On my standings before I was assuming Beasley to Bobcats. I'd put Bulls 5, Bobcats 6 now.
  14. Seriously, it reads like something I wrote after Illinois got knocked out in '09.
  15. Eastern Standings Predictions (Assuming some things like the Bulls getting a shooter, but nothing outrageous like somebody getting Chris Paul) 1) Miami 2) Orlando 3) Atlanta 4) Boston 5) Charlotte 6) Chicago 7) Milwaukee 8) Cleveland Yes, I realize I just rearranged this year's playoff teams, but the non-playoff teams didn't really do much to improve themselves. If any of them are to make the leap, I'd actually guess the 2 worst from '10, the Wizards or the Nets, but I think either one would need some injuries from the playoff teams to step in.
  16. just out of curiosity, how many games do you think they win? and do you think they win a title? 66 wins and yes, unfortuntately. I'd love to think the Celtics could take them down, but I fear this is the year KG careens off a cliff.
  17. I didn't say it was likely, I said it wasn't out of the realm of possibility. It is.
  18. Not til Calipari gets run out of Kentucky
  19. I'll bet RedFlash a billion dollars that the Heat don't start 5-12.
  20. Reading is fundamental. That was after Pippen had already played with Jordan and been molded into a great player. Haha, so only through the mere contact with the immaculate MJ did Pippen become the player that he was? I'm not worthy to play with you thy MJ, only speak your name and I shall become a hall of famer. So you deny that Jordan made everyone around him better players? Including when he wasn't on the team? Yes, I'm absolutely denying this absurdity
  21. Delonte West. He owns a delorean.
