  1. i think you should be able to jump right away or have to wait 3 years. i watch more college basketball than pro basketball and i like seeing pro-prospects, not jon scheyer. I think you'd have an overrun of high school kids in the NBDL that way, which is fine by me. Europe would benefit quite a bit too. I think you'd get a lot more kids not going to college under that plan compared to the leave whenever you want plan.
  2. Blame Dempster for the double to Hart, not for not getting 4 outs I think the point is, Baker should not even had to worry about making a play. Retire the damn pitcher and the inning is over. Or at least make the pitcher hit the ball to keep the inning alive. But Dempster shoudl have been out of the inning. Baker shouldn't have to worry about making a throw to get a guy out? What if Parra hit the ball to Baker?
  3. Yeah there was no real argument for it, but nobody cared becuase the general public was sick of these young punks in the nba when they should be getting an education just like Larry Bird and Chris Mullin did.

  5. The problem is it's the NBA's rule, not the NCAA. The NCAA can't mandate that a kid stay in school for more than 1 year. I don't know what the NCAA can offer up to the NBA to get them to dump that awful rule. The best thing for everyone would have been to have Brandon Jennings venture to Europe be a huge success. From there, you'd have more kids following him to Europe, and eventually some staying there. The NBA would get wise, dump the rule and welcome in everybody. ETA: Sampson got a show cause for repeatedly violating the same rules. It was the disregard for NCAA rules and violating probation that got him the book thrown at him. Cal has the same disregard, but his violations are far worse. But as I said, it will all be tied to boosters whenever the hammer comes down (probably farther away than any of us think), and he'll for the 3rd time be "cleared of any wrongdoing" as another Cal coached team has a final 4 revoked. (UK will still hang the banner)
  6. Ya, they'll get the USC treatment. However, if Cal finally gets brought into all of this, he's cooked. Just like Pete Carroll...
  7. Gary Williams I could see writing a hell of a book when he retires. In sweat
  8. Didn't Gary Williams mention something about somebody in his area who was blatantly cheating? Was that ever determined who he was talking about? He seems the I don't give a [expletive] type who would publically call out Cal if he saw a kid they fought over go to UK. Did Romar ever say anything following what's his face "commitment"?
  9. I'm really surprised they allowed him to publish the 200k figure. Rumors are one thing, but putting it in a major newspaper is quite another. Yep, I've never seen that one before. Think what you might of the Sun-Times (utter tripe), but it's still a big name paper outright accusing a school of cheating (and with a specific number!) Is it possible the UK deck of cards collapses on Cal before FIU's does on Isiah? Even if they prove it, I don't see the spineless NCAA wont dropping the hammer on one of the bluebloods. Cal will leave for the NBA, rumors will follow, and it will all quietly be done away with. I think Cal's getting too cocky. He's smart enough to not be paying the players directly, but an exact # leaking out sounds like bad news to me. Cal hasn't exactly been loved by his peers over the past 15 years, and him pulling in nothing but top 10 kids is gonna start opening some mouths. If he comes down due to outrage from fellow coaches, the NCAA is going to have to do something drastic.

  11. http://yourseason.suntimes.com/2566462,080410-anthony-davis-kentucky.article Source says Anthony Davis to Kentucky, and that it set them back 200K
  12. Maybe he was watching that Michael Jackson movie in IMAX when he sent it
  13. Here's the thing, I've often times pored over game logs to pull information like this, but at least then it was something tangible to look up. You're asking me to find a week period where bizarre circumstances happened in conjunction with each other. I knew you were wrong, it was common sense, I didn't feel like wasting my time to prove something so obvious. When I've done that in the past (i.e. wins, clutch, whatever anecdotal stuff is thrown out there) the person making the claim usually ignores the evidence anyway and comes back to post the same drivel 3 months later. I have no problem arguing logical arguments, but when you're side is based solely on your out-of-control emotions, then what's the point?
  14. His teammates wouldn't do that, they love the guy. LOVE him.
  15. I'll say this about Favre, I'd rather Jenn Sterger gets hit by a bus than him.
  16. He may have sent pictures of his junk to her. Salisbury's gonna sue him for copyright infringement
  17. Kennedy's secretary's name was Lincoln and Oswald and Booth's name had the same # of letters
  18. What do you think we're all fatasses? No, just you. Way to go right for the personal insult (paraphrased due to erik's edit)
  19. I'm not really sold on Oglesby, and it really wouldn't matter, and we'd probably wind up with somebody just as good, and yeah it'd be because he grew up loving Iowa, and this is a very long, awful sentence, but I don't want him to wind up at Iowa. I'm pretty sure it's us or you guys though.
  20. The point is they're dumbass stats like walk-off cycles that mean nothing with regards to futility. The reason the Brewers had so many ABs with RISP is because they hit nothing but singles. Would the Cubs have been more successful if every inning went single-HR-out-out-out? That'd be an awesome game, no ABs with RISP, that's a record!! The Cubs ARE GOOD!
  21. Chris Allen gone from MSU
  22. DePaul fans shouldn't be excited over Anthony Davis because he's not going there.
  23. =D> :good: my hate of saint louis is rivaled by my hate of cincinnati. barely. I hate St. Louis way more, but my loathing of Dusty Baker trumps all
  24. How many times did he say obviously in this dream
  25. The worst part about all this is that either: A. Promising starters like Cashner and Jay Jackson are going to become relievers because the bullpen clearly is what made this year's team so bad or B. We're gonna drop another 15M on relievers this offseason or C. All of the above
