  1. If I had to bet, I'd say nowhere near as poorly as you think.
  2. That's crazy considering the defensive changes that have been made from '09 to '10. Where's the downgrade coming from? Ramirez I suppose. Theriot at 2B?
  3. When did our defense become an issue?
  4. He's the kind of writer that should avoid the camera whenever possible. b/c I usually like his writing, but boy does he come off as a douche on camera Radio too...he's sooooooo smug. Like "I can't believe I'm having to talk to you morons"... He should make sure to credit @thekapman when he acts like that
  5. He could always go to KU and qualify.
  6. Did it say somewhere that they thought they could recall Hoff?
  7. Are people even thinking before they're posting about how Samardzija deserves the shot first because of his decent AAA #s while Cashner had phenomenal AAA #s? I mean seriously??
  8. Nevada also. So what happens to the rest of the WAC for football? They've only got six teams left. By rule leagues have to have eight teams. My guess is either the WAC or C-USA disintegrates, with one mostly absorbing the other. What a mess that would be. That's 18 teams from Hawaii to Florida. Yeah, 'mostly' I had to put in there because I have to believe that UCF and a couple more of the easternmost C-USA teams would move somewhere else, but I have no idea where. I guess Southern Miss, Marshall, UAB, East Carolina, UCF could poach a couple of Sun Belt teams (Troy and Arkansas St?) and then add Missouri for 8.
  9. based on what? The fact that he was incinerating AAA hitters before his promotion. If only we could convince the rest of the league to play AAA players like we are. Ho-ho hehehe
  10. Do the Cubs really need pitching? Dempster's been really good this year (3.98 xFIP), Wells is looking like a mid-rotation type guy at least and Z and Gorzo are good bets to turn in decent seasons (mid 4s xFIP) You're counting on a lot of things to go right if you expect to compete with this current staff. I don't know if you've noticed, but outside of Dempster (who's more like a 2 or 3 and not an ace), we've been pretty bad. Silva's fallen back to earth and is average overall. Z is a headcase. Can't count on Gorzo pitching like we did this year. Wells has been below-average. EVERY SINGLE STARTER (Except Z) HAS BEEN ABOVE AVERAGE
  11. Being independent in basketball would be a nightmare scheduling-wise.

  13. Just keep your stupid mouth shut next time Brandon
  14. Reports say that Lee passed through waivers. So nobody wanted him for free at his salary. Throwing cash into the deal was Hendry's only option. Atlanta didn't have as much of a need before Chipper got hurt. It's possible they'd have paid the full freight after the injury.
  15. Nevada also. So what happens to the rest of the WAC for football? They've only got six teams left. Considering LA Tech is a member, they don't seem too tied down to geographic limitations. Their best case scenario seems to be to try and raid the C-USA West or the top Sun Belt teams (+ North Texas) I don't know if C-USA teams would see that as an upgrade or not.
  16. I read it as the front office is disappointed in the veterans who are still there.
  17. I don't want to see Soriano anywhere near the infield. why? a 1B has to Catch the ball. Soriano can't catch the ball. Problem Plus he's got that stupid hop, his foot would never be on the bag Next person to make this joke is getting cut.
  18. Absurdly high expectations from the front office for the vets?
  19. You guys punk'd me good, Kaplan hasn't said anything about who we're getting back. I hope it's good.
  20. Needing just 1 win to close out their hated rival Red Sox, Captain Jetes puts up a 211/250/263 line as Boston comes up clutch while Jeter chokes away a 3-0 lead.
  21. I'd imagine BYU will start playing ND semi-regularly.
  22. Not surprising. Have you ever listened to this man speak? He's a child. These are fantastic. Cripes, the background on his twitter page is a picture of him and Michael Jordan at a freaking country club. At least he had the good sense to barely show his own ugly mug.
  23. Kaplan's last 2 tweets have been pouting that other people broke it first. Love it.
  24. Depending on the season, the most important time to hit well is either: -The first half -April -April games against division opponents -Games against teams above 500 -At bats only with runners on in the playoffs -not 2005 -not in the 5 or 6 spot in the lineup -September -Against the Cardinals
