  1. I hear Haith is going to A&M
  2. Curious to see if you can back that up. Mike Flanagan (started in '03, his first full season, same as Hendry) has topped out at 78 wins. Ed Wade GMd the Phillies for 8 years, never reaching the postseason, he then got a job with Houston after one year off and has led them to 0 postseason appearances in 3 seasons. Dan O' Dowd has been pretty terrible with the Rockies, but they've been superior to the Cubs recently. ETA: That's just current guys, and there aren't many that qualify in terms of having been around a long time with big payrolls.
  3. The move proven the GM, the less they need a middle man. Without the middle man, there is an increased chance of the owners playing fantasy baseball. If your GM is poor enough that he needs a president to babysit him, then the problem isn't the team president, it's the GM. I don't want my team president meddling in baseball activities. They should worry about the business side.
  4. I see no need to have a baseball guy ahead of the GM
  5. At least all your core players and young and...oh yeah nevermind. Rondo's all the core we need.
  6. Looks like it's suicide again for me.
  7. Hey Doc, maybe if you have Garnett guarding James, you should maybe have somebody taller than Jeff Green on the court to grab rebounds.
  8. WHY IS JEFF GREEN STILL ON THE COURT?
  9. No, just old.
  10. JEFF GREEN?? WHY????
  11. Oh, Bron-Bron, that is not going to help your end-game rep
  12. Zambrano's contract is not awful, and Dempster's is pretty good. And backloading is smart.
  13. Delonte, I understand your frustration realizing you won't get a shot off with Davis and Green on the court together, but jumping up and down like a 12 year old in the corner isn't the way to address the problem.
  14. KG aged about 10 years since Saturday.
  15. That's about the 50th most moving pick that will take place in this game. What a terrible call.
  16. Rajon looking healthy.
  17. Hmmm...probasketballtalk said he got 2...but still. And Noah gets to count as a forward? I read 2 points, 1 1st place vote.
  18. Bogans received 1 vote, it being a 1st place vote. Joe Johnson got the same. Just silliness all over on the bottom part of that ballot (+Kobe)
  19. Whoever our GM is on November 1st better be our GM for the offseason. I have no desire to lose out on Pujols thanks to our front office being in flux.
  20. Gotta wonder what happened here. I could see him being the type to get so up in his head that it falls apart, but he had his issues at other stops before Chicago, just seems strange that he would fall off a cliff after getting to Seattle.
  21. While Bogans, Watson, and Gibson are all tradable, I'm not sure it's worth the minimal salary relief to lose their abilities.
  22. Not when GarPax packages he and Jo for Dwight Howard. #delusions Then you're SG problem is solved by Agent Zero. Win-Win-Win!
  23. I guess it depends if he considers the MLE an acceptable salary. ETA: And if the MLE is still around.
  24. I'm leery about making definitive statements about who can afford what with the labor unrest, but how are the Bulls supposed to fit Crawford (or somebody similar)into their budget with Noah's contract ready to escalate? They're ~3M under the cap right now, and the only expiring contracts are Kurt Thomas and guys in street clothes.
