  1. What is it specifically that you feel Kenny has done wrong?
  2. Petition to ban Kyle?
  3. I will temper my celebration all over your face. I will temper nothing. Spray chart bukkake for Kyle.
  4. asodipghapsodigjasopdgjasopdgijspa
  5. Is flopping considered a foul in China?
  6. Doesn't declining his option just make him a super 2?
  7. Randy Shannon was a good guy, so they fired him.
  8. I'm never rooting for Georgetown again!
  9. Vick has done a lot to improve his personal image since the whole thing went down and has regained a lot of fans, but there are still quite a few people who despise him and will not root for any team he plays on. Are any of them Eagles fans?
  10. There's a difference between meatballs and racist rednecks. Racist rednecks send hate mail to Milton Bradley dropping N bombs. Meatballs think Ramirez needs to hustle more and that Steve Stone is a genius. The meatballs are something you have to put up with if you want to make any money (as long as I don't have to talk to them) The racist rednecks, who cares?
  11. I think people were saying the only people who would actually hold to that "I ain't watching those tattooed thugs anymore!" are the racist rednecks, in which case who cares? What's the solution to keeping the racist redneck crowd? (Besides drafting guys like Tyler Hansborough and acquiring guys like Mike Dunleavy and Josh McRoberts on purpose)
  12. I was excited when I first heard that, but that's about the same price I would spend if I went to the bar every sunday to watch the games. Yep, Sunday Tickets does nothing for me. Obviously it's different in that if I wanted to I could watch my home team for free in my own home, but even if I wasn't, I think I'd much prefer going out rather than feeling the obligation to watch games at home since I've already paid for it. And I certainly wouldn't want to have to host my [expletive] friends every Sunday just so I could watch the game with other people.
  13. I don't understand why Vick is a bad example, unless you're disqualifying all NFL players because of how hilariously dumb NFL fans are.
  14. You're a baseball history guy and you've never heard of Rico Petrocelli?
  15. Wiki says:
  16. Thome has an OBP over 400. HRs are not all he brings to the table.
  17. Not that this is in any way an apples to apples comparison, but there are two things that dispute this: 1 - The death penalty didn't exactly kill Kentucky basketball after it was used on it in 1952. 2 - The death penalty has been used twice since SMU (albeit in D2, and not in a major sport). And Kentucky went back to being the dirtiest program this side of Kansas after that, was caught and did not get the death penalty.
  18. They're demerited the same way you demerit LFs and 1B, only moreso because they don't even contribute that.
  19. I already said Thome should be a hall of famer. Absurd is a subjective description of a person's #s. That said, putting a player as a replacement level fielder can give that DH too much defensive credit.
  20. that's not true at all. they traded him because ryan howard had been destroying the minors for 3 years, came up and played part time as thome struggled with injuries in 2005, then full time when thome went down for the year, and hit so well that he won the rookie of the year despite only playing about half the season. obviously howard and (age 35) thome were 1b only, so one of them had to go away, and the obvious choice was thome since the phillies weren't going to deal away a 24 year old who had emerged as a franchise cornerstone. Ryan Howard is why they wanted to trade him, Thome's fielding (or lack thereof) is why he was heading to the AL.
  21. Also, why are the Padres spending a combined 5.5M on Qualls and Hawpe???
  22. I never said throw them out, though I could see how that could be inferred from what I said about his counting stats. Offensive #s put up by a DH certainly aren't as valuable as those put up by somebody who's playing the field, no matter how terribly they're playing it. Could there be a circumstance of a guy being a slick first baseman, who happens to be on a team with another so he gets DH at bats? Sure are any of the DHs up for hall consideration one of those guys? Absolutely not.
  23. Surely you're aware that UZR for first basemen is a joke. Surely you're aware that Thome suffered a season ending injury in his last year with the Phillies, and it was widely known that they were forced to trade him to the AL due to his inability to play the position. Surely you're aware that he's played 4 games at the position since leaving Philadelphia (including zero games played at the position when he was traded to an NL team) instead giving backup starts to Ross Gload, Darin Erstad, Rob Mackowiak, a hated Nick Swisher, Brendan Harris, Jose Morales, Mark Kotsay, Josh Fields, a terrible Wilson Betemit, and Luke Hughes.
