    The Marlins already have a very good GM, I'm not sure what use they would have for Hendry. And I reiterate, Z has a no trade clause and a big salary the Marlins likely cannot afford. I'm not sure Mike Quade is an in demand manager either.

    So you want Crane Kenney and Gillick working side by side in the front office? I mean I'm not completely against that but I'd assume that they don't want to pay 2 people for pretty much the same position, even if Gillick is a pure baseball guy and Kenney is a purse business guy. I think he was referring to the insistence on calling Kenney a cockroach. He's survived 3 team presidents and 2 owners so I'd say he has cockroach-like qualities. So being employed by the same company for awhile (In different positions, working your way up through the years) makes one a cockroach? You want a cockroach in the organization, look at Fleita.

And there's plenty of room at the top of a sports team for a business executive and a baseball executive. Especially if the baseball executive is 100 years old and going to be gone in 3 years.

    I imagine the Astros would put in a claim on him. They would probably offer something better than Zambrano in return too.

    It's just that that's a lot of money for Florida to pick up for an underperforming player. It really doesn't fit into their payroll, and is very unlikely to even go past the initial offer from Hendry. Plus has Morrison even cleared waivers?

    Hollandsworth said Ramirez not going to the all-star game on 3 minutes notice proves that he's not helping the young guys on the team. Ramirez's teammates performing poorly while Ramirez has done well also proves this for some reason.

    If he's so ashamed he should drop his appeal to the players union and accept the ~$3 million loss of income during the next 30 days. For the more statistical inclined, how much is the value of a win? I always forget how that works. $4.5 mil per win? Zambrano is has a 1.0 WAR this year, so in reality he's pitching like a $4.5 million pitcher Pretty sure the union is who's appealing, not Zambrano. A union isn't going to let a team take away 1/6 of a member's income because they're mad at him.

    Were there no SPs out there that would have beefed up the rotation so that maybe when injuries happened they wouldn't be so screwed? Aren't they cutting back the payroll significantly? Is that all part of the master plan or are they just pinching pennies? If they are saving up to spend this offseason, then that makes sense. I'll grant you that I'm reserving my full judgment to see what happens this offseason. I don't think there's any evidence that the Cubs didn't sign another starter due to monetary concerns. If they wanted Cashner in the rotation (as they should) to start the year, who did you want replaced in the rotation before the season started?

After the team [expletive] him over on his own charity event. This is yet another exhibit in the case against Jeff Loria. Can't have any sass talk from the proles, no sir. This scumbag is right up there with Dan Snyder and Don Sterling. He's much worse than them. He's not even human.
