  1. (Yes, I know I'm gettin off-topic) Any guesses as to what draft pick over the past 8 years has accumulated the most WAR as a Cub? Darwin Barney? samardzija? His awful '09 and '10 torpedoed nearly all the value from '08 and '11.

  3. Well, seniors in college are never going to have any leverage.
  4. Frank sell one of the parking lots?
  5. The Cubs 1st round picks over the last 10 years have contributed -0.2 bWAR.
  6. A first round phenom can still make his demands clear so that he drops out of the top 10 rounds and gets his deal later. What leverage does said phenom have if he's drafted and they don't meet his demands, assuming he isn't a multi-sport athlete (or a high school player)? Either way, there has to be more to this. This plan makes no sense. If he's not a senior in college he doesn't sign.

  8. Hmmm, good point. Let's just make rounds 1-10 the de facto 11-20th rounds, and vice versa
  9. You act like he was interviewing with the Marlins.
  10. Yeah, I think I'm going to have to pony up for it. I use those pages a lot, and I'm sure I'd give in by late February anyway.
  11. I like Micah Hoffpauir for my go to comp.
  12. Haha, how did Carlos Vazquez get on there?
  13. The only way the Cardinals managerial search would affect the possibility of Terry Francona coming to the Cubs would be if the Cardinals hired him.
  14. I like Antigua, I just don't see any way he sticks on somebody else's roster. I feel like the 3 I mentioned could actually be in a big league pen this season if absolutely necessary. I don't think Antigua is there.
  15. He'd probably be a lot more thrilled if they gave him a fair offer.
  16. I thought about Burke, but can't imagine a team riding it out for a full season with a guy who just converted and hasn't pitched above low A.
  17. 33 guys currently on the 40 man. Koyie Hill certain to be removed. Montanez likely. Wouldn't be surprised/broken up over Cabrera, Caridad, Gaub, Maine, or Smit being removed. In addition to the ones Kyle listed, I could see these guys getting rostered. Marwin Gonzalez - He's 4th in line of our AAA-Majors IFs (Barney, DJL, Flaherty) but he's 22 and could be stashed on somebody's bench as a 25th guy. Marcus Hatley Blake Parker Ryan Searle These 3 would basically come down to whether they're preferred over one of the relievers already on the roster. I think it's important to note that Brett Jackson isn't on the 40 man yet, and while you don't necessarily hold a spot for him if you don't plan on him being your opening day CF, I'd be stunned if he wasn't added at some point this season.
  18. It gets me wet. dripping, even hahaahhahahaha
  19. It's quite obvious you didn't understand that. Just say you hate the Big Ten Andy. It'll make your next bizarre rant go away a lot quicker. Right, I'm the one with the conference bias when I've got Big Ten guys arguing that Big Ten teams should have played for the title in 06 when they both got annihilated against teams from other conferences after the fact. Butler and VCU should've been 1 seeds last year. Yes, those are the exact same arguments. Thank you. You know damn well that if I was making the same asinine argument you are making, but I was saying that ND was the team that should've gotten the rematch, I'd be getting shredded. And rightfully so, I might add. That's because other people hate ND like you hate the Big Ten.

  21. Yeah, I'm very confused by Truffle wanting the games played and so he can root against PSU.
