  1. I disagree - interviewing him would have given away the fact that it was just a charade. Theo doesn't need to interview a guy he's worked with for years to know how that guy thinks. Yes, I heard Theo say that too. Well it makes sense. I would find a Francona interview to be a waste of time regardless of what Theo said. Why would you interview a guy you know backwards and forwards? Only for show. Right. So if Francona was only being talked about for show, perhaps they'd have an interview with him.

  3. FTR, Big XII is tied to Fiesta. Of course the Fiesta and Orange Bowls don't have the ties to their conferences that Sugar and Rose do so they wouldn't care about taking a conference team. If LSU loses, and it shakes out as OSU-Oregon, I'm guessing Fiesta would take an SEC team, and if not would take a Big XII team. Basically, nobody's taking Stanford as an at-large before the Rose Bowl could.
  4. Well that's being dramatic. Old dudes like that will swear every other word around other men, but won't say damn in front of a woman. I assumed he was talking about his home-home there. Even if he was talking about the football field, you "lost a father that day??" Come on.
  5. If all he cared about was making Francona look good, he probably would have interviewed him to keep up the charade.
  6. I'm fairly certain it's still the "unless they are playing in the NCG" scenario. Yep, and SEC is locked into Sugar, and ACC to Orange(I think) unless they're in the Title game. I don't think the Fiesta has a Big XII tie in. Pretty sure any bowl that loses their locked in team gets 1st pick for replacement, so assuming it's LSU-Oregon, the Sugar would take Bama and the Rose would take Stanford.
  7. This does give the Rangers a time zone match now as well.
  8. Unless somebody took Stanford before they had a chance to the Rose Bowl would take them.
  9. How does it help him to say he considered him, but went in another direction?
  10. I was appaled at the smell of that place when I went back this fall.
  11. You're going to [expletive] down our throats.
  12. I believe he's the only one trumpeting Alomar as having a chance. Shockingly, Alomar has Chicago ties. Media guys are so transparent.
  13. How can you possibly eliminate it this offseason?
  14. Just a wife beater ....oh wait that was K-Rod nevermind Wasn't that a wife's father beater?
  15. The dump truck is already en route to Bill Cowher's house.
  16. I couldn't stay silent any longer.
  17. Volquez got screwed.
  18. I may be reading this wrong, but doesn't it have Soriano's arm worth a win and a half in '07?
  19. If he's good, his final year of arbitration will easily surpass $12m. Also, Theriot got $2.6m in his first year of arbitration, and that was by losing to the Cubs and taking their number. Castro will start at a higher level than you are assuming and make more every year. It was his first arbitration year, but he wasn't a Super-2 like Castro. Unless I'm misunderstanding the arbitration rules, which is very possible, then his $2.6 million for his 4th season would be compared to the $4 million I'm projecting for Castro in his fourth season. Jeter got 5M in for his 4th season 15 years before Castro would go to arbitration for his 4th season. And then 10M for his 5th season (again, obviously 15 years before Castro) You're way off.
  20. I'm still really angry this stadium was ever built.
  21. I'd offer him 11/110
  22. Check your math Kyle. Castro's due to be arb eligible in 2013, but not a free agent until 2017. He'd have to flame out spectacularly to make only 25M pre-FA.
  23. Would you expect him to carry on bringing children to campus in plain view of the guy who saw him rape a child?
