  1. 16 men enter, 13 men leave. Beyond Glauberdome.
  2. "Lillibridge isn't the 25th man" really shows how bad this team must be. a World Series representative last year gave over 1100 PA combined to two sub-replacement players; you're just coming off stupid And neither player was named Lillibridge or as bad as Lillibridge. Emmanuel Burriss was twice as bad as Lillibridge's worst season by WAR. But you're right, you have an excellent point about his last name not being Lillibridge. ETA: Not that Giants fans cared, they were all, we got Buster Posey ya'll, who gives a [expletive] about some Burriss [expletive]
  3. This makes no [expletive] sense If you have a good team, the discussion is about the players that actually contribute on a daily basis. We're discussing which of 4-5 candidates ought to sitting on the end of the bench or DFAd. Yeah the backend of the roster was never discussed in '08.
  4. So let's add more.
  5. Not as much as I despise Pat Hughes, Go Cubs Go, and Brent Lillibridge Do you, really, tho? This could be like Grace all over again. Are you implying that I don't actually hate Mark Grace? Because if so, I also hate David. And the home plate camera.

  7. You're thinking of the game thread. Hopefully the Louie Andersons in this thread can get the Cubs to put the leadoff man on so we can see some hilarilous LOL FAKE RALLY TIME!!!
  8. Is Sweeney much more likely to be a capable bat than Sappelt at this point? I'd say so. I'd feel better with Sweeney's bat than Sappelt's as a 4th OF'er type. I'd feel better with a guy who can actually hit lefties. Why? They're not doing much better vs. RH'ers either. For me, its about getting the better players out there and while there's only a slight value difference there, Sweeney is a better ballplayer than Sappelt. Because we have 2 left-handed ends of a platoon in our OF, and replacing Sappelt with Sweeney because...I don't know why would leave us with some terrible bat out there every 4 games.

  11. I had no idea that was in alphabetical order. I feel like that would have slowed me down
  12. Uhhh yeah, that was easy. 40/40 with 4:33 left.
  13. I have nights and weekends. I went to Opening Day and sold Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday at 1/2-3/4 market value. You mean face value. Yes, I do.
  14. Sitting behind Nate at both positions

  16. Pretty sure I'll go, I'm assuming just a walk around chance to take pictures.
  17. Wish we could have seen Rose and Nate on the court at the same time. So Rose could get 8 touches per game?
  18. this. Cubs should be 5-4 right now. Shame. Could be not should be. 5-1 lead in the 8th in Atlanta 5-0 lead at home on a damp day today Regardless of how much of a talent disparity there is, major league teams SHOULD win these games. And there will be games where we have no business winning this year. Like say down 3-0 on a cold night with the wind blowing in?
  19. The hell are you doing falling asleep at 3PM on a Thursday? Setting up surveilance on his driveway
  20. It was pretty shameful what Indiana did with Daniel Moore.
  21. berardini was a walk-on that completed his degree. he's never played, but can transfer somewhere and play immediately because he has another year of eligibility. if he can get a grad degree paid for by going to a mid-major and playing, that would be awesome for him. Fair enough. He shouldn't count. So Sandi Marcius doesn't count either? I just want to get thejudgement on it now before people accuse Painter later on down the road. You are the judge and jury on these matters, correct? If anyone would know...
  22. Look guys, nobody transferred from Indiana when they had 2 guys on scholarship so stop being such meanies. Burn Hoosiers Burn. And to clarify, the 19 kids that jumped off the sinking ship that was Indiana dumpster fire basketball when that weirdo took over don't count, but some phantom 4th guy does count for Illinois. ETA: You don't see the connection between paragraph one and paragraph 2? Matt Roth wrote: Coach Crean and the whole coaching staff did a great job of keeping me in the loop, helping me as a person, not just as an athlete. Obviously, the scholarship situation didn't work out in my favor. Prior to the end of the school year and our meetings, they were very positive. They wanted me to keep building my game and train, even if it was on my own. At the same time, they wanted to help me in any way possible, whether that was play somewhere else or play overseas in a certain league here or there. They did make those options available and offered a lot of support. (see http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the ... ncaab.html). And even after Roth's departure, at least as of last year, he was coaching at Crean's camps and appearing at a fundraiser in Fort Wayne with Crean (http://hoosierhoopla.blogspot.com/2012/ ... tn-vs.html).
