  1. It's all right here. viewtopic.php?f=29&t=55324&p=2262664&hilit=larussa#p2262664
  2. When Tom Ricketts gets his way, that will all be blocked and impossible. There's no end to his evil. Drop in a token, watch Glenallen swing, drop in 2 tokens to watch him connect.
  3. This is my assumption with what happened to the Mariners deal considering the original article had them with an opt out after 2015. No idea how the Rangers deal has apparently doubled before it was even supposed to begin.
  4. A lot of those numbers in the new article don't match up with what was originally reported (both in contract revenue, and in when teams would be able to negotiate new contracts)
  5. Whoops, working off the old article.
  6. It's still within range of normal. There are 3-4 outliers and then there's the field, but yes, poor Tom Ricketts (not to be confused with...you know)
  7. Not particularly. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/dodgers-send-shock-waves-through-local-tv-landscape/ We're pretty much slightly better than middle of the pack as is. Bear in mind the Dodgers new TV deal doesn't even start until this coming season, yet somehow they found a way to spend money without it. Honestly the only teams that are currently outclassing us are the Dodgers, Angels, Yankees, Mets, Orioles, and Red Sox. But #PoorTomRicketts has created a wonderful narrative that everybody has bought that we don't make enough money to support a top 20 payroll. The Astros and Padres are ahead of us. And the A's are barely behind us. The Astros network declared bankruptcy or something, so they will not be getting anywhere close to the revenue reported in the article. They are clearly behind us. The Padres have a 20% stake in Fox Sports San Diego vs. the Cubs having a 20% stake in CSN. I'll take the Cubs. No idea where you're getting the A's stuff from. I did forget to mention the Blue Jays though, Since Rogers owns the Jays and the network its some Tribune era accounting going on there and they're certainly better off TV deal wise
  8. The scales really shouldn't be the same on those graphs.

  10. Glenallen you magnificent bastard
  11. I was late for football practice the entire last week of the season so I could keep watching the Cubs win, and then would be home in time to watch ESPN so i could get periodic updates on the Rockies game. But I was certainly a fan before then. I loved by Boys of Zimmer hoodless sweatshirt when I was 5 years old. Wore that thing everywhere.
  12. Stuff So...the front office wouldn't prefer to deal with AL teams.
  13. If this was true, then our front office is [expletive] stupid.
  14. sure looks like it It's the exact same motif on the blue parts of the uniform. If you only stare at the red parts, sure. The blue is much less noticeable. Plus, it just looks like blue blood splatter. It really doesn't matter what the blue is, that doesn't change the fact that the red looks like blood splatter. Not to mention, the whole thing just looks god awful and stupid. Blue blood spatter? It is Northwestern.
  15. He's almost certainly telling the truth. Football players are huge jock buffoons, and this probably happens everywhere. There are hordes of players that want this to not become a thing.
  16. That was the only game I've gone to this year, Andy, and I thought it was that game that made me so distant from college football this season. That game suuuuuuuuuuuuuucked. I spent half the 4th quarter charging my phone and missed absolutely nothing
  17. Ok, I thought it was weird that I blanked on , but
  18. The SEC really has you if you find yourself rooting for Bama over OSU
  19. Because hopefully Theo isn't stupid.
  20. He was suspended for a drug of abuse.
  21. Barney for 2 months followed by Baez would be my assumption
  22. Samardzija must've told them to [expletive] off on a contract extension
  23. Corey Hart could barely play the OF in 2012, and he's had surgery on both knees in the last year. I wouldn't trust him out there.
  24. 85M would put us at 19th to start this past season. With everyone getting free 20M, it'd almost certainly slot lower than that. Pittsburgh has already been mentioned as going up to 100M, Seattle was just a hair under 85, and has been connected to the big names, KC and Cleveland also seem due for bumps. If Arguello is correct, we're looking at somewhere around 23rd-25th in payroll. For the Chicago Cubs. What a [expletive] nightmare.
